Hello all, As you can see by the subject, im new to AnthemRO. I saw this was a pretty good/ accurate to real RO and wanted to give it a try. I havent really read through the forum much yet, however i did have a few questions.
How many people are on at any given time? Do the donations make the game a little unbalanced? I came here from Shards of Dalaya, which is a private EQ server. We have donations, but not for in game items that could affect playability. Meaning, for donations you wont recieve a weapon that puts you above others, or armor, etc.. etc.. just wondering about that here. Is this game more or less set up the same way as original was set up? map connections, classes, zones, etc..?

First of all, welcome to AnthemRO!
Donation items are pretty much available to everyone. See we do have something called an Ad Credit system, where zeny can be traded for ad credits (the currency for donation items). The price is not totally ridiculous like 30,000,000 zeny to 1, but kept relatively fair at 800k (approximate) to 1 dollar.

About 500 are on but there's like 150 venders or more not sure well its a Low Rate server I think its like 5x/5x/1x?Meaning that you'll basically get the same exp that you got in Ragnarok.

our server is a 5/5/3 rates and also please take the time to read over our ingame and forums rules cause they will let you have the best experience in ARO. Also welcome to our world and enjoy

i read about the 5/5/3 rate before i started downloading the game files, and saw it mentioned its close to real game experience gains. What do the numbers actually represent? forgive me if im missing something obvious but i dont know what 5/5/3 means

5x/5x/3x
1st 5x = Normal Experience - Monster's EXP is five times greater than the normal 2nd 5x= Job Experience - Monster's JEXP is five times greater than the normal 3x = Drop Rates - Monster's Drop rates are three times greater than normal.
Primarily, it is really to make players' lives easier (without spoiling you). Let's just say that playing the official RO takes forever. It becomes level grinding hell. But at 5x, it makes it much less tedious.

To further answer your questions, I'll start.
We have about 500-600 on at a given time - it all depends on the times you're playing on. For example, during hours of War of Emperium, our numbers rise, and during the slow times; well you get the idea. :P
The donations do not make the game unbalanced to the point where you are like :o :o. They do affect gameplay though. For example, a Doppelganger card, which is worth 27 ads (now 24.30 with the discount), will give you an approximate +30% ASPD (Attack speed). With about two of these cards, generally any player can achieve 190 (maximum) ASPD. This will give you a decent advantage over someone that hasen't donated/played long enough/doesn't have a Doppel card.
Basically, the Donation system will just boost your game play so that you can enjoy luxury items faster than someone who doesn't donate. Bear in mind though, there are still ways for you to make money so that you can eventually get a Doppelganger card, and there are hundreds of people that have gotten rich, and now have megamillions of zenny without ever donating 1cent.
Despite the fact, yes, technically speaking, donating will help put you "on top of others" when it comes to Cards which can make a weapon godly, but then again, theres weapons that can't be donated for, called SQIs (Super Quest Item) which will put you above everyone else (unless everyone else has one lol) and those are worth +200million zenny.

Well, after playing for nearly 2 days... i take back my "this seems a little too easy" attitude of the game :P after about, level 35 it seems to slow down a bit. im nearly 45 now, and wow... starting to feel like the old grind hah. thanks alot for the replies and extra info though, i've read it all and really appreciate the help. this is a very welcoming community for sure ;D

Can you explain to me please how SQI works because im also new and i want zenny to buy any equips i want.., i have my post titled IM NEW STARTING WITH ACOLYTE... someone can help me please...even explaination only itz trully apreciated..thanks guys

To answer your questions, the SQI is basically a piece of super equipment. I believe that every class (Knight, Crusader) or class variant (Swordsman branch) has one. There are also a few that work on more than one class variant or that work for every class. They're basically a lot more powerful than any regularly attainable uncarded weapons or armour. Is that $1 or $1000? The point isn't really necessary unless you're going into the tens (10,000). Plus it should be a comma, or else it just looks like decimalisation.

1) It's not a normal occurence, nor is it common, which is why I had asked for it to be taken off/removed because it especially doesn't belong here.
2) As far as the picture goes, the message shows in my eyes, and possibly in the eyes of others that it's as if you're mocking Varis, or any other GM with the "Oh SHIZ! It's teh GMs!" message.
and
3) I'm no where near trying to make my self look impressive to anyone, but rather trying to be friendly and give the server a good look; meanwhile not trying to be rebelious, as the image mentioned aforehand portrays.
