Is playing BG with alts to get rewards illegal?

Personally I think the whole BG alt stuff is crap.

From my perspective, I just spent 3 hours looking for a 'single' person to group up with in Thors. (Still didn't find anyone, ending up logging off again as usual.)

I went to every single town, dungeon, and PvP map shouting for a recruit.

Now you are implying that 20 people would and should be willing to join on a daily basis for BG? Let alone... even just one willing person..?

I've even seen PR's try to recruit over global announcements and still failed to get something going.

With that being said, just how do you expect people to obtain these things in a timely manner?

I'd rather promote it for this certain aspect, just so some newbies can client the shit out of it for at least a mediocre set to join WoE or something with. Which is really what everyone wants anyway is it not? More participants for WoE? It isn't like anyone with those gear sets + weapons are just suddenly going to out shine those with the actual top tier billion zeny gears + sqi's.

The gears aren't that great compared to what we can already easily obtain on this server.
The armors are nice, and the weapons are decent PvP alternatives, but not so great that they'd really stand out.

I say we just go with...MAS(?)'s suggestion and cut the requirement from 10 people per team to 5.
That oughtta make BGs more lively, and easier for people to get the rewards legitimately.

The thing is, why would people who have SQIs and MVP Cards do BG to get the BG gears? The stuff they already have is way more powerful already. No point to un-lazy for those items.

That Warlock's Battle Wand is a great substitute for SoM for people who don't have the zeny needed to buy it.
The daggers are nice too.
And the whip? 95% bonus against demi-human sounds a lot better than the SQI according to what I've heard from the dancers I've talked to...



Anyway, I guess I won't be getting the medals I need, since it's usually impossible to get even a full team together. The only times that happens are when I go with a guild -- which has happened all of once.

Considering that spamming Tierra still takes 5 minutes each time AT LEAST, and it takes 34 rounds to get the 100 medals required (34*3=102) if you win every single time, that's almost three hours of non-stop work. (2 hours and 50 minutes, plus however long it takes to move each client)

Not to mention you have to have multiple characters at 80+.

If someone has that kind of time and accounts, why not let them? It seems rather like farming to me..
And since the items are soulbound last I checked, it's not exactly like you can mess with the economy by trading them...


Oh, to be clear, is it literally not even one alt per person? ie, if you have 19 people you're screwed and everyone goes home cursing/unhappy because you couldn't get one extra person?
**for the record, I know that you're referring to people who have 10+ clients, but I want this to be asked as well, since this has happened before. :|

I agree, BG needs some serious fixing. I 'gave it a try' yesterday and it was one of the sadest things I've ever seen. First we tried going and shouting in pront but never recruited anyone past our ring of friends. Later that day a PR got on and tried rallying everyone up as well. It held for 2 games, each which I was in that damn waiting room for probably what was well over half an hour. THEN once it did get started, those who I was with who were doing BG with an interest of gears had no chance against those who were doing it just to show off their gears. Putting this as a Gears will win although they will never actually use their badges and those who have a solid interest in BG and its gears are less well off. Of course there is no way to correct this really, but lowering the amount to 5 vs. 5 would allow those with interest to go more often, as they wont have to wait for as many people. So although they may lose you still gain badges and you'd still eventually lmake some sort of progress.  /support for the 5 vs. 5 because I think it would not only increase interest in BG but help newer people out.

But they still aren't completely overpowered. You'd have to run pure AGI builds on most of this stuff just to get any sort of reasonable ASPD. Plus they are completely useless in PvM (save for like Toy Factory/LH3 [highly concentrated areas of Demi's]). If some mediocre beginners want to waste time multi-clienting for this stuff, by all means.. I encourage it. More participants in WoE/PvP, and *le gasp* maybe potentially a higher player-base. Due to they can at least get their hands on some descent gear, and not feel stuck all their life.
