My math on OCA's is if 100 OCA's= 10 mil (considering 100k each average) not counting the overcharged OCA's that are 300-500k each. Those 100 OCA's I can make 30-50 mil or more off every 100 OCA's. Been getting a good haul of cards lately and its been selling good for the past few days. So in my instance I might just open all of mines since I'm profiting more from it, but there is also something else in mind for these cards later in the future.
Thats the philosophy which I buy OCAs with - the cards are good but prices are drastically falling making the profit less to null. Cards like plankton are down to 50k. The new cards are losing worth as well. For example Solace dropped from 7m to 1-2M.
Besides a lot of these new cards for example Blazers/SR have limitations of buyers - Only pro geared Niffers would buy them and pretty much all Pro niffers already have them 
In a way the worth value of 80% of item shop cards went down *some went a little down but still has value* but unlike the OCA "savings" people did now, its either people trying to sell OCA's for profit to get rid of, while the person buying is now opening *which is getting rid of the OCA mass* which needed to be done so card prices will return some value in the later future. But this in return brought upon us these new cards into the economy, which in 1 way opens up a whole heck~a~of~lot
of new cards people can enjoy, plus at a decent price rating(aiming towards the newcomers of aRO). Though the only difference now is whether selling cheap now to make quick profit or managing when to sell when the quantity of the cards start to diminished(people make new combinations an experiment with cards every now an then so plain cards are just as rare an carded equipped ones). We might be getting a whole lot of cards now but in the later long run these cards will run its limits and go into how you say "extinction" once more. But for now we have a healthy variety of cards, an most cards (which I have lots of or some duplicates of) we can sell for quick cash or save them for the later after when some1 is willing to bid a high price for that particular card. Its all about stocks and how you rotate the money around (though I'm still making some raw zenny on my free time so I don't heavily rely on the mass cards I've got in the past few days for profit) Hydras,Planktons,Etc all those sqi base cards rather buy them cheap now if they are 50k each
because people always love to overrup SQI's at times an people can't really have a unlimited supply of those cards at their disposal. Also those Mini mvp cards like BK,Amon,LoD and stuff are still uber rare to get from OCA's its like they have a nerf of their own within the OCA's. So if you see a Amon Ra card on sale for like 2-3 mil better buy cause they might be going up later on pricing (just my hunch
