Because they're still a novice at heart; novices have bad HP/SP modifiers?

If its really an issue, get some GJ, usually 1 gj is enough to recover all sp on super novices xD.

I answered it.  They're a for fun class that aren't supposed to have magnificent stats.  On this server, they can be quite
deadly if you pour a huge load of zenny into them via SQIs; their base state is just a novice with first-class abilities.

If the SP bothers you then you can always get the Increase Spiritual Power / Increase SP Recovery to supplement
GJ spam.
