Homunculus - Amistr - Alchemist
« on: January 31, 2010, 09:58:37 am »
A series of questions:

1. Is Amistr worth a thing? or should I just get myself a Vanilmirith?
2. Where do I train my amistr? He's now at level 50 and I still can't leave him alone without pitching him at Orc_dun2
3. How do I train my alchemist for job level? This is because training with my amistr just doesn't cut it. My level is 71/27.
4. As an alchemist, does having Acid Terror and Demonstration worth it? If it does, how do I use it? Where?

Thanks~

1. In general all the homuc class are worth it in terms of what you prefer. Considering you want a pet that can fend on its own Vanil or Filir (w/e that bird homuc class name is) would be your best option. Amistr is a pet that works like a tank in the long run.

2.Unlike Filir and Vanil at lvl 50, Amistr depending if its growth is at a good rating (randomly chosen when hatching) a lvl 50 Amistr still needs the guidance of its alchemist/bio partner such as going on flee build and having you tank it to fight monsters if you don't want to pot pitch every so often. Around lvl 65-75 is when its doing decent damage and survives a lot better.

3.Alchemist is a toughie class in the beginning considering you burn money on that class trying to keep up with potion usage and your own attack pot usage (if you use any at all examples: Acide and Fire demo pots). You can still try to do 1 on 1 fighting in toy factory lvl 2 alongside your pet or take a ice damascus weapon forged from blacksmith/whitesmith class to high orcs for awhile. Mostly I use fire demostration in niff with loli armor(auto heal) or majuroros/rybio (stun armor) and my geo healing, an just let the fire destroy the whole mob, while you have meat spam (having 2x Spring rabbit clips can help you if you use meat as healing).

4.Acid Demo works well in pvp, an mostly people just use it for pvp since it has a better use in that field (someone who pvps can well answer your question on that part). Fire Demostration is your god sent mobbing skill for undead races (mostly) an other monster races alike. Fire demo I use either in places like niff, prison,Glast heim, mostly undead/plant places to mob in. But it requires you to have meat/pots of any healing spammage to tank while the fire does its part. That's why armors like majuroros/rybio or any stun armor works well in this situation as you want to remain on your fire demo flame until the mob dies.

Heres a piccy of my fully grown Amistr (and its stats but its not the best ones) transformed if your still determined to train your Amistr:

The way to say it makes me wanna kill my amistr yet I love him so much. I've spent too much time with him. I had a level 50 lif before and I killed it too because its weak. Now do I have to depart with my amistr? ;_;

Well I tried to tank him but I don't get very decent exp from killing. I find it easier to let him kill some mobs rather than strugglling killing one monster for such exp. Any other way?

I'll try toy factory but I dont think I can survive high orcs @-@

I've never seen people kill mob with fire demo yet. Does it looks like the ninja skill thingy? I might wanna try it with hiding and see if it works. thanks for the tips~

Quotes:

1. Well if that's how you feel for little Amistr, then train on an maybe something good will happen in the long run. Reason why I trained 1 was they was cute in a funny way and the fourth skill of theirs when they get loyal (transformed) was pretty good which peeked my interest (though I haven't unlocked that skill yet)

2.If you talking about training just the Amistr, 1 way of doing it (this will take patience an maybe a 2x exp event might help some) change your build to full agi of what you got, just smack a myst case in toy factory an let him beat it to death. He/she will gain the majority of the exp to help him level up at that lvl. Leveling a Amistr is probably the hardest of all the pet classes, they have no attack skills to use only def buffs but all good support pets should be well worth it in the end. Look at the Lif transformation fourth skill, they can add their matk to their str atk to do really high phy damage without losing loyalty, amistr should be worth it also in the long run.

3.Toy factory might be at a slow pace in leveling terms, but its decent in making money and leveling at the same time. Considering if you burn a decent amount of zenny on potions and stuffs, this would be an even balance in training and earning income to later usage. High orcs is a nice spot for leveling up to 85 but they are dangerous in numbers. I don't know what gears you have so I'm just naming a place where it doesn't really require gears.

4.Ho ho ho XD well if you've seen me in niff training my bio or 1 of my friends alchemist, you'd be O.o! Maybe sometimes in game I can show you what I mean.
Its hard to explain how to use it since many people use it either as an on going fire damage post, or as a mob skill. What it is exactly you need 1 Demostration Bottle (not acid bottle) people in prontera vending shops name like AD Shop or something has those Fire Bottles. Everytime you use the skill you use 1 bottle reasons why I like to mob and make the most of 1 bottle. The skill looks like a bonfire laid down like a fire trap, but whatever target that gets close to it takes fire damage and your physical base damage from your stats to do damage at a nice smooth damage rate. The thing is the fire doesn't go nowhere an you have to be standing on it so the monsters can attack you while they are on the fire taking damage (reasons why tanking on the fire). Plus this skill requires cast time an having no dex will be your end, no dex will probably take 3-5 seconds to cast but could kill if your not careful, plus the fire can't be cast on your character tile so casting 2 tiles in front of your character is the technique for it.
