i didnt see any posts about this lol, so i'll just put one up xD

i heard the GM's and admins dont run it.  and it goes down every now and then.

or maybe i missed something since i was on vacation lol

From what i heard, the GM of anthem RO do run the PC bot now.

It's been down for a while now, There's nothing we can do till it gets its updates, or is reset.

It was always Rolan that ran pc.bot and he is not Staff on any extent.

I came back about 3months ago now and pretty much everyone i'v talked to  in -game thought or assumed that The Staff did start running the PC Bot.
Though this is no shock for me to find out that you are not, but it seems to  be the circulating rumor now.

Yeah, the staff never ran PCbot. People just assumed it was. The problem just seems to be with the site. The PCbot still walks around just fine, but the site says some error about connecting to the database.

People don't know who runs PC.bot. Everyone that knows and uses it, realizes that its a bot, and since botting is illegal they assume the only person with the power to run a bot is one of the Staff members. Aside from that they're too lazy to check what's really going on and actually read about it.

I think it might be an internal error as well. Though PC.bot still walks around, and seems to function normally, the information PC bot gathers still relies on the database that it has. Thus because PC.bot tries to be so reliable it must have missed the last up-date, which contained the info about Supper Candy obtained from the Christmas event. Maybe the vending of the item created some internal error, so he's still able to gather information, but the interface between him and the site is down? Thats just my guess.

Still though. Hope the owner fixes it soon. PC.bot has really become a huge part of AnthemRO's economy. Also is just a very useful tool.

Eh, we had a slew of new items before, and it just came up as "Unknown Item #8731" for example. So I don't think it's that.

@Fog: If it was just money issues, wouldn't the site be down altogether? Ie, 404. It's there, just immediately loads a database error.

Hmm, I've never been faced with the Unknown Item #? error. However since that can happen, and there's a protocol to follow if there's a new item, well then, Im not sure what can be wrong. I mean, i've thought about having an item check overload, but that never seemed to be an issue. He seems to be functioning properly in game, just the transition from him to the host, then the server is interrupted somewhere.

It's only because of the "... to database!..." that I think its a problem with an item description, or something related. Anyway, the point still remains that its down due to a database reason and the owner is to busy to fix it. Besides, PC.bot is a privilege, not a right, and we should respect it and the owner along with his/her personal life and problems. There's a good chance that the reason PC.bot is down for such an extensive period of time because the owner is too busy with other problems to deal with it.
