Average Prices for Items?

I am relatively new to the game having not been a member yet a month and I find myself constantly confused as to the average prices of things.
Some items people tell me are valuable I have sold to npc's for almost nothing, other items are hoarded to the point of completely filling my Kafra's space.
I am quite confused and would truly like to know if there is a listing or some such that dictates that average vending prices for items. And if such a list does not exist would you all be so kind as to state the average vending/buying prices?

I always use the search thingy to look to see if I have anything that is valuable. It works.

That's a really broad question. Heh. What items have you been hoarding? There are all sorts of random and easily obtained items that you can make some serious bank on, and other ones that are just trash as you've discovered. The prices of some items change over time, depending on how many of them are in the market, how much it costs in the item shop, things like that.

In SQI's (Super Quest Items), there are any number of easily obtained items that sell for a few thousand. this thread has the list of SQI ingredients.

x_x You can also use http://pc.bot.nu/prontera/ to check prices. Just type in the name of item and it'll pull up the price of that item being vended at that in prontera and alberta. Hope that helped a bit. If you keep asking more questions I'm sure more people will answer and help more.

i still keep many random items if theyre a bit rare, they might help for the new SQI quests

Oh. I'm not sure if this server has upped Mobster spawn rates, but if it does, killing Mobsters and collecting and overcharging the sapphires they drop is a nice way to make money. The sapphires sell for like...3.7k each with level 10 overcharge. A range class is really good for killing mobsters. I use a linker to kill them. It's Estun-esma, estun-esma and they are dead. If you're cast is slow you can use Eswoo to slow them to a crawl.

I wish I could remember if mobsters had an upped spawn rate or not. XD.

Yeah, quite a bit of the things taking up my space do seem to be quest items but they aren't currently listed on that other link you gave me. Like for example the Elder Pixie Mustache and Worn Pages.  Other things are not quest items but do not seem to be dropped often. For example I got a few paintings from a bon gun, amulets, crystal fragments, ninetail tails, some gems, ect... that aren't being shown on that other site either.

actually, i think mavkas (mosc dungeon) are the new mobsters with the mirrors being 9k or something compared to 3k sapphires (+ singing plants and witherless roses etc etc.)

if in doubt, use pc.bot.nu as suggested or use the forum search function, making sure to use quotations. usually i can get an idea of average prices within the first 3 pages, but pay attention to dates. something priced from last year may or may not cost the same this year. if STILL in doubt, though by now you should have discerned whether it's npcable or vendable, vend high, wait a couple weeks, go down, wait a couple more weeks etc etc.
