Something about logging in.
« on: July 22, 2008, 08:22:53 pm »
It's nothing about the connection and "Failed to Connect to Server" error.

There's something about my login screen that has been bothering me for a while now.
Whenever I type my username and password, it distorts the sounds, or makes it slower.

Something like that.

If you don't know what I mean,
Here's a video...

[Ignore the avsmedia.com thing]
http://files.filefront.com/AnthemExe+2008+07+22+18+1Wwmv/;11178084;/fileinfo.html

Is this... natural? Or is it just me?
How can I fix it? :/

It's normal and happen to some user. It may be the cause of late march sakray update since it happened to me after I patched my sakray.

Well, are you using Vista? The same thing happened to me on my old notebook, whenever I was connected to the internet via WLAN in Vista. My solution: no WLAN when playing RO. :P

Anyway, I googled  a bit how to solve this problem, because it seems there are other people experiencing the same problems (not only in RO, but in Windows itself when using Windows Media Player). Someone suggested to update the WLAN drivers, another one recommended to buy a new WLAN adapter, dunno. @.@

Btw, is it only the login screen, or is it the same ingame?`For me, the "bug" happened ingame while playing as well, always making my game slower, thus lagging every minute, it was quite annoying. :/

If you're not using Vista, disregard this. ^^'

I had this problem too. The cause is that for some reason the langtype in the sclientinfo.xml of anthemRO is set to 7. This stands for Philippines and should be change to USA, namely 1. After I changed mine from 7 to 1, it worked like a charm. Best would be to extract the sclientinfo.xml from your adata.grf using a GRF extractor. Then put it in your RO/data folder, change langtype from 7 to 1 and it should work o.<

Or...just ask the GM's to change it in some update. Having it set to 7 is kinda odd :/

Would having a download to the sclientinfo.xml for players to download it to their data folder work?

Download AxeGunner's sclientinfo.xml fix: http://www.anthemro.com/forums/index.php/topic,37444.0.html
If you experience any problems, post it in that topic.
