Whenever I try to take a screenshot of anything, I experience a giant lag spike of 1-2 seconds and it does sometimes lead to death and it is quite annoying at sometimes /heh. If anyone has any tips to remedy this would be great

It will happen.

It's normal with any program that steals all your CPU like RO.

yes, every MMO that ive played that lets you take an in game screenie gives that 1-2 sec lag.
