Minor Ubuntu Error
« on: June 12, 2008, 11:11:11 pm »
Okay, first off, don't reply to this telling me to get windows because it will solve my problem. I'm not interested.

When I open RO and my audio player is up, or if I had a youtube or any other type of online media with audio, I get an error that doesn't allow me to open Ragnaork unless I log out and in again.  It says: Audio System Init Failed
Does anyone else running Ubuntu get this error?  Do you know how to get rid of it?  If not, it's not a huge deal, logging out is only a minor inconvenience.

Thanks~

I don't use Ubuntu, but most linux distributions can't output sound with more than two sources without a sound server. One program takes up the sound device and locks everything else out.

All I can think of:
  • Check for a running sound server
  • Make sure that wine is set to output to that server instead of /dev/dsp
