because if they only ban the accounts the person will just make new ones and bot again

if they break the rules they get hardcore ban

they shouldve obeyed the rules

and if it wasnt you but someone who uses your comp

then you should be mad at them but either way you probably shouldve made sure they obey rules

lots of people have many players on one ip

i got 4 friends who play RO on my comp and i made sure they obeyed the rules

So by your logic, if someone sets up bots at a computer shop, say about 40 of them, and about 5 of you guys are "legitimate" I should bot check all 40 of those accounts, and if 3 of them are not botting, including your 5, I should not ban those 8, but ban the rest?

What if you are gaining money from the botter? What if you were gaining items from the botter? It's just as illegit as botting yourself. The rules are there, and it tells everyone what the consequences of botting are. If you were not botting, you have no one else to blame but the botter. He knew he'd get in trouble, and he knew that he put you at risk too. He just didn't care until he got caught.

Another point:

The GM's can't possibly just take the word of the players related to an IP that has bots running from it that it really is coming from a shop or cafe or whatever. If they did, I promise that every botter would claim such a story to escape punishment, whether or not it's true. The GM's don't have time to investigate the truth to those claims, or they'd have an even worse backlog than they probably already do. No, it's completely impractical for them to be expected to do such a thing. The only reasonable course of action is to enforce an IP ban whenever a bot is found. If a shop or a group of players doesn't want to suffer an IP ban, they should be more careful with who they let play.

but how if we dont know the person botting and we're playing in the same shop?and if the gm bot checks all the account,how if all of that 41 players and 40 of them is not botting and theres one guy who was..all of the 41 players should get ban??and bout the case i guess gm should investigate all the cases of botting before they ban the accounts..or just prevent them from botting
