Which wizard gear to pick?

As all new players start poor, I was thinking of getting berzes and hunting the required items, but people told me to get dex gears?

I'm split between the two now

Most Casting class go for dex gears, so you can get instant Cast. [ but getting all the Dex gears is expensive~ ]

Instant Cast cant be achieved with Berzes, but they're hell of alot cheaper. :x

You could use the berz to help you hunt for dex gears. Fire skills in sewers on sting, earth spike on the gargs down there in the hunt for their cards, earth spike again on stem worms, then whack the crap out of drops and rockers. Once you get those you can start saving up for kahos and sell your berz when close to your zeny goal.
I wound up getting two extra gloves before I got my second sting card down in sewers and that helped a good bit towards being lazy/unlucky with garg card buying.

if you get a heal clip you can literally stay down in sewers for days once you get the hang of firewall stacking. Keep fwings hotkeyed incase of trouble, heal in a pinch, and sit to restore sp. Can be annoying once you can't pick up anymore loot though for being overweight.

Does this usually take upto 6 months? ._.

I don't really know. It depends on luck a lot, I guess. I never got IC, but I'm such a damn flake when it comes to farming it's no surprise.
