I do not feel nor do I seem offended. I am aware that there is an issue going on with the Thor patcher. Some players have different root that's causing the problem. Since you don't have any firewall or antivirus, you can try doing the methods that were given by Nyx.

Repeatedly closing and opening the patcher will eventually work. It seems to hang after it finishes downloading, and restarting it starts it on the next patch.
However, it seems it will eventually get all the patches downloaded and working.  There were quite a few.

This Update gave my client diabeetus.

It got stuck saving first time like some others have mentioned, so closed it with Task Manager.
After that i tried again.
It downloaded the updates again and it saved successfully this time, but now when i 'Click to Start Game' i get this first window (screenshot), then it endlessly spams the second window (screenshot) until i have to close it with Task Manager again.



Edit: This fixed it.
I extracted and Replaced my old files with these. thx Nyx

I don't think we did a proper launch for it, but I plan on packing it with the abdatas from here on (as long as I remember).

Also, the new client will launch with this patcher.
