Somebody Explain Clips to me

Since I started aRO, I noticed that clips were about 80k a pop in the vend browser. Literally 2 days later, I hunted the Dragon Fly until I had a huge vat of clips just waiting at my disposal. Now I see that the price of a clip is 200k? Our community needs to get real: these things are hardly worth 30k when you've got this bad boy in shop:

So aRO, would anyone like to explain the insane prices of clips when belt [1]s are infinitely buyable? Surely our players are smart enough to simply kill the Dragon Fly if they need it for the Spiritual Ring combo? <_<

Clips go up and down.  Some sell them at 80k like how you said, and some go for 200k.  Clips are usually chosen over belts because of the weight issue, and sometimes for the extra 10 SP.
And naw, there are people that don't know about Dragon Fly.

On a random note!  I think they used to drop from random MVPs before. o.o

Farm 100 clips, make a few more accounts and some merchants, sell them all simultaneously at 80-100k a pop. This is how we normalize a price and set the standard.

Well, the economy is pretty much full of shiet right now so people will automatically set-up higher prices.
As for the belt thing, they weigh too much. I myself would always choose a clip that gives a teeny bit of SP and weighs like nothing, over a belt that weighs so much.

sure do miss 50k clips everywhere. Pretty sure they used to drop in lh3 quite a lot too.

I'd pay 200k for a clip. I meann I can literally make 200k in like 5 minutes, so it's not a big deal to me.

I think it's a fair price since most of the people bothering to buy clips are too lazy to go hunt them themselves. Furthermore, Ring [1] has kinda taken over for Clips as the go-to slotted accessory because it's not only cheap, it also gives a stat point.

Exactly, it's about the issue of making money so easily on this server. Many people that play private servers to begin with will not know about unpopular maps, or maps that aren't available to quickly enter on the Warp NPC, so may not know exactly how to aquire it. But ultimately, it's probably to do with the excruciating laziness so many players seem to have - some merchants just exploit that.

Thats how the world works. Everyone could possibly do everything but they try and do things they like and most beneficial to them creating markets for things. Imagine the cake market - if every vet would farm their own cake and not buy them from others.

IRL it's more efficient for the taylor to make his own shirts and the shoemaker to make his own shoes and then swap rather than having to make both there shoes and there shirts. It's the same principle on this server too. The cake grinder sells the cakes to the n*** grinder for zeny.  Circle of life grind.
