Does RO work with linux?

hi, my old computer just broke down, so all i have left is this desktop with Ubuntu on it and I was wondering if i was able to run the game on Ubuntu...

It should work through wine, but be aware that Linux is not one of the supported OSes listed on our download page.

Crossover Games runs RO on macs so I assume the linux version should work as well.

Well I just tried it in wine and it does work, although there is a bit of lag :S

Step by step:

go to applications>wine > configure wine

graphics tab and check emulate virtual desktop

then run the setup.exe in wine and pick whatever res you want (check off use Lightmap because it apparently causes problems)

run animus.exe using wine and it should work.

hm... i tried all that and everything runs except for the game itself... even the patcher and the setup work, just not the game... any further advice? and thank you so much for all the feedback

umm the res that you picked for the emulate desktop, set it to 800 x 640 and then in setup switch the res to 800 x 640 and then try it 

Edit: Make sure that in the setup file you are running in fullscreen
