You become a Swordsman at the Job changer lol

Yes, you have to be a swordsman in order to become a crusader or knight.
As a swordsman, you can either change at (least) job lvl 40 or (maximum) job lvl 50 to become a crusader.
Just go to the Job changer at Prontera or Alberta.

You dont have to change at job 50 but it gives you extra skill points and more skills to use.
But yes, after reaching job 40 or 50 and going to Job Changer NPC, you'll become a crusader. Your job lvl will go back to 1 but your Base Lvl remains the same
