Kyrie eleison
« on: July 01, 2009, 05:46:00 pm »
I have it lvl 10. the description says it would protect against 10 attacks... The thing is: everything I fight unbuffs it on 2nd or first hit.

( I placed the correct lvl 10 kyrie on hotkey)

The damage after its gone isn't reduced either, its normal damage as without kyrie. ( same happens both in prison and skellington (niff))

Why is this? is it supposed to be like that or a bug?

It protects until you take damage equal to 30% of your max health for a maximum of 10 hits.

Yes I'm using lvl 10 one, shows 10  on hotkey and when I'm gonna cast.

Most of the time is like: first hit- perfectly prevented. 2nd: very low dmg 3rd and rest: normal dmg, no reduction.
Simply useless.

Hmm.... having 3400 HP, and getting hit by that insect that doesnt hit more than 400, it surely should protect me for the 10 hits, shouldn't it?

it protects you for up to 30% of your maximum health (1,020 if your hp is 3400) so if a plant hits you twice for 400 its 3rd attack will finish off the 30%
I'm not re-inventing the wheel.  I'm just trying to put rims on it.

Assumptio is best for places like niff, where monsters attack fast and in mobs. Kyrie is good if you're expecting an attack from ONE monster that doesn't attack fast OR outdamage the 30% HP you currently have. *shrugs*

Or if you don't have IC/Phen/B.Butterfly

I managed to level a Priest from 80ish to 95+ in Niff without IC, using Kyrie instead of SWalls to kill mobs. I just camped with IC after that, and if you ask me, Kyrie is better than SWall for camping since SWalls don't follow you around when you pick up loot. >_>

Oh and you can recast Kyrie before it gets negated too, I hate having to constantly walk into fresh SWalls. D=

Kyrie Eleison remains a temporary shield and the only effective defensive spell as a normal priest (there is Angelus, but it is meh).
It's usefulness is kinda stunted with Priests having relatively low HP, but it does form an good temporary barrier to walk easier when forming mobs.
On the other hand, Safety Wall does block at least 10 hits on one square (max of course).
