How do you make arrow quivers?

Have 500 of one type of arrow.

Go to the payon weapon shop.
First building on the west side, near the payon upgrader.

Inside there should be a guy called inventor Jak (or something like that)
Talk to him and tell him you want to make quivers.
A list will show up of quivers you can make. Choose the one you have 500 arrows of at least.

Click ok and he'll take 500z per quiver you make.

geo's is awesome for exp at lower levels, but bad money.

You can try stings. They give pretty good exp and the rare's there are pretty good money

what arrows would be the most effective against them?

stings = fire arrows
gargoyles = stone arrows

you can kill gargoyles with fire arrows too, it'll just take a bit longer
