Title: Problem running RO.
Post by: silent on January 12, 2008, 01:59:47 am
My friend accidentally uninstalled his anthemRO.  Although he already re-installed the game; for some reason, when the patch process says complete (when he clicks it), the game wouldn't load up.

1. Is there anyway to fix this?
2. Is it the computer that is having problems?

Also, I tried telling him to System Restore his computer, but after doing that, it still won't load up.

Can anyone please help?

Is your friend running Vista?
Is it conflicting with another private server?
Is Sakray updated?

Alternatively try to manually patch stuff and make sure your friend has AnthemRO files not the old animaRO files.

You need the Gravity patch that the GMs specifically told you to get back when the server started up again.

http://www.anthemro.com/forums/index.php/topic,728.0.html

click that.

1. He's not running Vista.  He told me he has a XP.
2. Doesn't have any other servers on his computer.
3. He can patch the Sakray (able to click the far left button, then click exit.

We already tried that, still didn't work.

We installed everything, but the RO just won't load up.

Well, we did the patch that AceJay sent us, but RO still won't pop up.

The patch process is complete and clickable, but when we click start, the whole RO won't start.

Can someone help please?

Did he download AceJay's mini install, or did you use AnthemRO's mini install? If he used AnthemRO's mini install, go download AceJay's and install it. Then overwrite the old AnthemRO patcher with that one in the link AceJay provided above.

We used AceJay's mini installer.  >.<

Would this be a problem on his computer?  Because we already tried System Restore.

http://files.filefront.com/AnthemRO+Data+1+10+08exe/;9415063;/fileinfo.html

Download that, install it to your RO directory, overwrite your old adata.grf -- That's the latest patched adata client. He shouldn't be getting any sprite errors after installing that. In the event that he does, something was installed correctly so it might be wise to redownload/reinstall.

After you've installed it, Patch Sakray, (see below section) and then start dyefire. This should patch Anthem.

Then just delete AnthemPatch, and replace it with this one:

Alternative Sakray has been quite strange as of late. Try this program to patch sakray:

Put that in your RO folder, select sakray, click OK. Then click on download and it should start downloading the sakray updates.

We're doing this process as of now.

When we tried AceJay's advice (ran dyefire), we came up to a sprite error at the end.  It then said:

DyeFire detected that RO crashed.  If you wish to send a bug report to me: save the log file now copy paste RO's crash message into a new text file and zip/rar/7z the this file(use high compression) those two files.  Note that DyeFire does not have access to the crash message so you have to save it manually.  Do you wish to save the log file now?

EDIT: @GM Denia: We ran Valhalla Patcher, selected BetaRO (Sakray), then clicked download; after clicking download, an error occured.  It said:

Please run this program in your Ragnarok folder!

One minute, I will super compress my folder into a grf, and you will need to use a grf too, which I will provide, to extract the files.
This should work, hopefully, if not, I will also do my best to help you with your problem.

Go to your RO folder. Look for foxdye.ini => Open it.

Then make sure it says this in there:

ClientEXE AnthemExe.exe
Address 72.55.174.209
Type Router

Then save it. Try running client again?

It does say that, but when he run the client again, he gets these:

Sprite/Shadow error

and also

Anyone know what those are?

Gah, I need to redownload dyefire.
No problem on instructions.
It is just getting the original files, cause I editted my adata to add loading screens of my own, and the sclientinfo.xml keeps loading.

Post by: Zone on January 13, 2008, 02:26:34 am
I see what it is, he is getting a sprite/shadow.act error.
I am getting the same with that new patch.
So what I can do is:
Use the adata.grf and sclientinfo that I use, if you don't mind having one loading screen that is completely weird *a man on fire*
It is a senses fail album art.

Anyways, I can do that, and I will look into this act error, if the file is corrupt, I can replace it.

Just call me Zone.
The error could be generated by a few things, missing files, corrupt files, bad download, bad upload.
I script for servers, make clients, grfs, and much more.
So this is nothing out of the ordinary.
I will look in to this as soon as I get this person back on AnthemRO.

Now, it may be bad compression, or over compression.
I am experiencing the same once I used my super compressor to compress and decompress the files from a grf.
I am going to look into the grf stuff right now.

Well, first, I have the super grf compressor uploaded.
It's great for transfering files, but do not use it on your files unless it is storage, using it on your adata.grf and sdata.grf and then playing AnthemRO will run up your computer's memory. With it, I could probably get sdata.grf below 1 gigabyte
[Download (http://files.filefront.com/GRF+Builderrar/;9427238;/fileinfo.html)]

Here is the AnthemRO.grf [Click (http://files.filefront.com/AnthemROgrf/;9427348;/fileinfo.html)]

*note to self, make sure you put the sakray in the folder before posting =.=*
Okay, this is purely sdata.grf issues.
1. Make sure you have the sdata.grf in the AnthemRO folder.
2. If you do and that is not working, try downloading a sakray from [Here (http://ratemyserver.net/index.php?page=download_kROLinks)]

That should work, I updated my sakray today using the valhalla patcher, which is included in then AnthemRO.grf
To open, simply extract the files from  the GRF Builder.rar to your desktop, open the "grfbuilder.exe" or just "grfbuilder" same file, only one is in the folder, just if it shows the extension or not.

On the right, it says Open, locate the AnthemRO.grf, and then click extract all. It will come out in a folder called "data", that is normal, just take the contents from it and put it in a new AnthemRO folder.
Download the BGM files provided by AceJay, or click [Here (http://files.filefront.com/Ragnarok+Online+BGM+Packaeexe/;9377378;/fileinfo.html)] for my mirror.
Put the Bgm in there, and then the Sakray (sdata.grf)
This should work perfectly fine.
Dyefire is included, and so is the fixed patcher.
The loading screens are fixed as well.

Title: Re: Problem running RO.

Once you get the sakray from the download link I gave you, you should be good, this server is far from up to date, so nothing that isn't already in that sdata.grf will be in the game.
All customizations for Anthem are in seperate grfs.

I patch mine cause I work with many servers, scripting, testing, there was a report earlier about a server I was testing yesterday, I haven't been on it since though, too much work. :police:
I also look into it for updates to see what is going on before actual releases.

Then it is an issue with the sakray you downloaded.
Those files all work together.
Now what I what I am thinking is just giving you that missing file and having you put it in your data folder.

That is just it, that sakray is a manditory file, that is why you are getting errors.
It has to be in your AnthemRO folder for you to play at all.

Did you read down about the part on Setup.exe? There's several solutions in that thread to the problem since it can be caused by multiple things. Go to setup and play with the settings. If that doesn't work, scroll down and read the fix about netmeeting.

I'm not really sure what this netmeeting thing is or where to find it. The two top pull down menus in the ro setup are also blank, if it helps.

If you're running windows xp:

C:\Program Files\Netmeeting I believe.

I just saw that Silent mentioned system restore enable/disable. If it still doesnt work for him . I advise you to download the CCleaner tool(Google it) and clean your registry from errors or redundant entries. Then try re - installing to run. CCcleaner is a free tool that deletes your temp files and fixes registry of errors , It also has a registry back up option incase you want to revert changes.

Click on the netmeeting application, there's a tools option in the application, not the folder.

Did you try fooling around with your setup options in RO folder? the Direct 3D HAL and such. Change that drop down and then open your RO client to see if it works, just keep trying until one works or you've tried them all.

You, sir, either need:

Go to "Start | Run..." please, and type in "dxdiag". If a DirectX window pops up, click on display and do the two tests: DirectDraw and Direct3D. Then tell us if they work. If you can't click these buttons, you probably have no video card drivers installed.

It passes all of those tests, and I can tell you from experience it can handle 3d graphics. I had had Anima on it until the machine crashed and had to be formatted. I can't really say for sure, ace, the site won't scan for the video card I'm using, but I do know it's a Geforce model.

(How to screenshot in Windows: Press the Print Screen button (PrtScrn or something like this @.@ for me, it's "Druck"), then start MS Paint, right click on the white picture and press "Paste". Then save it as jpg and upload it somewhere, f.ex. www.imageshack.us)

Trying that now, it just needs to finish downloading. I figured I might as well use the full one though. It might take a few hours to get the full one finished, so you might want to find something to do. :P

If you have a sdata.grf in your AnthemRO folder, you will not get that error.

All you need to do is download a sakray and put it in the AnthemRO folder.
Here, just click [This (http://dodownload.filefront.com/8985855//f5566d4ea5557a9b1c8b17d0bdd89f77b3ef6264e16b22f56abd1e91d08e05ec053851adfc3a29af)], and install to the AnthemRO folder.
Make sure it is the AnthemRO folder.
Once it is done downloading, install it, use the valhalla client patcher if you want, it may not be nessecary need to be updated seeing how this server is still in 10.2
This will fix it if you do it right.
Use the packaged AnthemRO files I packaged or any rather, just up to date AnthemRO files.

The thing is, we deleted everything and start over.  When we were trying to install Sakray (not patching it), it keeps stopping in a certain percent.  That is the Sakray in AceJay's thread.  Now, we are installing the Sakray dj_.. gave us.  I hope this one works.  And also, we are putting it in C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO, just like what you told me to.

No good, the download timed out on me at 75%. I tried using the FTP downloads, but they keep asking for a user name and password.

I tried it again and it didn't give me any trouble, the mini-setup is downloading now.

Breaking news from the desk of Festivale: There's no longer any error, but when I click on start, I get nothing. The only exception to that is dyefire, which puts a dyefire logo in my quickbar. :P

User name is anonymous

There is no password, use FDM to continue download if it gets interrupted.

FDM? I also tried the anonymous option, but then it just keeps asking me to log in over and over again. I'm downloading the sakray dj posted now to see if that helps.

As I posted in your other topic:

Ace, Ive read about your mastery with fixing people's bugs and I can imagine it gets quite annoying to say the same things over and over again, but Ive tried it I swear I have and there's probably some tiny mistake somewhere (like downloading the wrong file) which's stuffing me up. I get both the sprite error and the foxdye one and I just wanna play without having to download another gigabyte of stuff which won't actually help me anyway. Please, please, please may I have some peer-to-peer help rather than a general set of instructions...? It'd be greatly, greatly appreciated...

Actually I was referring to this part:

Quote
IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL:

Move your sdata file, sakray, sakexe, and BGM folder (if you have one) to a new folder, and Install my MiniSetup (found [Here] (http://files.filefront.com/AnthemROMiniSetup20/;9059952;/fileinfo.html) or [Here] (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2CYD7R2J) or [Here] (http://rapidshare.com/files/70259022/AnthemRO_MiniSetup_2.0.exe)) to that new folder.

After you've installed it, Patch Sakray, (see below section) and then start dyefire. This should patch Anthem, then you can play the game.

If the Start button doesn't work, delete the AnthemPatch file and save this one to its' location: [Here] (http://www.anthemro.com/Patch/AnthemPatch.exe)

That should fix your problems without having to download another Gig or so.

If you could please make another topic, this one is going to be locked.

From there I can help you.

And for future reference, don't bump topics older than a month or so.

As AxeGunner kindly mentioned, please refrain from resurrecting old threads. It will be much easier for you to have your problem resolved if you make a new thread. :)
