Title: Evil druid armour and attack property
Post by: the_undutchable on January 08, 2008, 05:20:21 pm
So I'm thinking of buying evil druid armour...
Can anyone tell me if it reduces damage taken from undead monsters completely?
I'm not sure if undead monsters attack with undead property attacks or normal proparty attacks...

Also, can anyone tell me what evil druid armour would reduce/increase in what attack property?
Like... it reduces x% undead, but increases x% holy attacks

Any other advantages/disadvantages are welcome

Can anyone tell me?
(The monsters I would particularly like to know are zombie prisoners and ancient mummies)

A Zombie's normal attack is neutral, so Evil Druid won't help here. It only helps against the special Undead Elemental Hit, it occurs from time to time, but in my opinion it's not worth it.

There are 3 elements which are negated by ED: Shadow, Poison, and Undead. So every attack with these element modifiers will MISS you.
The strength of two elements will be raised: Fire, by 25%, and Holy, by 50%. Means, every Holy attack does like 150% on you, Fire does 125%.

Advantage: No freeze/stone curse for you. +1 INT.
Disadvantage: Heal/Sanc doesn't work on you (and hurts you in PvP, including ME). Bless does, and it GIVES you the buffs, not the offensive blessing effect (-> Bless halves STR, DEX and INT on Undead monsters, but it does not work on ED armoured people).

Zombie Prisoner has 2 special attacks: Poison and Undead Elemental hit. So these two skills will miss all the time, if you wear ED.
Ancient Mummy has Undead Elemental hit (will miss with ED), and Dark Breath. Whatever it is, if it's Shadow, it will miss too.

That's pretty much all I know about ED. :S
Well, if you are a Healer Class, forget it! If not, yeah, then it could be useful, because you're still be able to take pots or meat.

So ED would allow me not to take hits at all from the attacks by ancient mummies? Except maybe the Dark Breath skill.
Thanks for that info!

Still not sure whether to get one yet. I saw someone selling one in a +7 mink coat in the buying thread

Well, Ancient Mummy attacks are neutral as well. EVERY normal monster attack is neutral, so they will be able to hit you. But their Undead Hit skill won't. And probably Dark Breath neither.

I wouldn't buy one to train on undead monsters. In my opinion, it's rather PvP orientated, or perhaps useful for BS/WS in Nifl.

Well, unless it's cheap. I once got an ED card from a merchant for 150k :D. Yeah, good old times.

Ah ok...
I was thinking of getting one if it reduced the damage from ancient mummies attacks... I need to get hold of one anyway... but I have no real need for it, I only actually NEED it to plagiarise skills...
