Mainly that your size changes from Medium to Small, thus making you more susceptible to damage.
Also, your mount will be a Baby Peco which shouldn't leave the nest until at least a year.

Your base stats will only go up to 80 as a baby. This goes with all babies.

On the bright side, parents can leech you no matter what level you are at.

Baby characters` have their stats capped at 80 [ unless set higher prior to being adopted] and their hp/sp halved. (Alchemist / blacksmiths also have their brewing/forging success rate cut down)

Are you sure its HP/ SP halved my lv 92 baby knight has 99+10 vit and naked he has just over 10k hp and i know a same lv and stat Knight doesnt have over 20k hp

Also since I have a baby knight the only real difference I have noticed *if you get the stat the way you want them before your adopted* is that its a bit harder to mob simply because of the hp loss. Granted that is on a vit knight.

What do u mean you level a swordie @ 92 before you adopted them to get that Stats? What if you reset your stat are you going to loose some of your points?

- Adopted characters are not allowed to marry
or to become Transcendent class characters.
- Adopted characters can only raise each stat to a maximum value of 80.
- Adopted characters have half of the Max HP/SP, as well as
success chance of forging items, than normal characters.
- Size of adopted characters is smaller than normal characters. Pecopecos for Baby Crusaders and Dresses for Baby Dancers will have a different visual style than normal characters.
- Adopted characters are considered to be Small Size Humanoids.
Normal characters are Medium Size Humanoids.
- Family members can share experience regardless of level difference as long as the level of parents is higher than 70.
- A couple only can adopt one character for their entire lives.
- Once a family is organized, it is impossible to disband the family.

anyway generally a baby char is just for fun thing.
If you want a strong char, get a knight.

the base hp is halfed, but since there is still vit, the sleips will change the end result of hp.  same level and vit knight vs baby with no gears is half
