Title: Critical Hit Question
Post by: Linmakana on March 18, 2010, 03:36:56 pm
1) So that's over 100% crit? Can I put some of that LUK into STR? I want to increase my crit damage.
2) I thought DA had nothing to do with Crits. If i get level 10 DA then all my crits will be right?

It doesn't have anything to do with crit's, it's katars themselves. Katars double your crit, so you really dont need anything above 48. [Unless you're running a crit shield, but thats silly in pvm ]

I see. So I can just put enough LUK to get to 48 Crit and put the rest into STR, improving my damage?

Max crit rate is 95% I believe, there's not much point getting over that.
Also here is double attack's skill description:
Quote
Gives chance to double swing a Dagger class weapon with a chance equal to (5*SkillLV)%, and adds +1 HIT per SkillLV (that only applies in double attacks). In the case of an Assassin wielding two Dagger class weapons, it applies to the right-hand weapon only. It also boosts the off-hand (left hand) damage of a Katar weapon by (1+2*SkillLV)% ATK.

With 50 LUK, I was never getting any normal attacks, only crits.

You should remove the dex to get it to str; after all as, a crit sin, you never miss (it has its exceptions though), unless you stated dex for steal skill usage. Im still kinda suprised you pull out that damage without str xD.

every other crit is extremely low because its your offhand's turn to hit, if you add str you will see that number climb. as to why it isn't centered is most likely because its a minor detail and crits aren't often under 10 lol.

You'll have to test to see how much luk you actually need. Once you start stating str, your crit will go down due to your Gryphon sunnies.

well technically 3 luk = .3 crit, the screen shows it as .33333 so its a little bit different.

CRIT
Critical Hit Rate: Your critical hit rating, which does damage that fully ignores enemy DEF, both % and pure value part. Because of difficulty of acquiring CRIT without sacrificing lots of other stats or useful cards/gears, it is recommended it is used on classes that naturally has fast ASPD one way or another. Offensive Skills do not take CRIT into account with the exception of Focused Arrow Strike. Critical Hit also ignore FLEE but not PERFECT DODGE.
The critical rate being displayed in the status window isn't the true value which is applied against monsters. The "status crit" is calculated by dividing current LUK by 3 and adding the crit bonuses from equips/cards. The real crit rate is a little different. Formula : LUK*0.3 + bonuses.
When you attack a monster or a player, the target's LUK influences your critical hit rate. Every 5 LUK that the target has, you lose 1% crit (Which isn't shown in the status window). For example if you hit Angeling, that has 100 LUK, you'll lose 100/5 = 20 crit. This crit tolerance is also known as "Crit Shield" on Doddler's monster database.
Critical is doubled when you use Katar type weapon.
I think you meant 1 luk = 1/3 crit

"LUK*0.3 + bonuses"
is what i meant, and our stat screens show it as if it were .33 because it rounds up at .9 so your crit is always a little less than shown. Move back in this thread and you can see that.
