Title: Problems Opening AnthemRO.
Post by: Fyrezblaze on December 10, 2009, 03:04:59 pm
Allright, I updated everything, and set everything up so I could return to AnthemRO, but every time I hit "start" on the patcher, I get an error that has a solid blue screen with white writing on it. it reads:
A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this it the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer and rerun the program. if this screen reappears, follow these strps.
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the message, or check wih the manufacturer for driver updates. try changing video adapters.
Check with your hardware vendor dor any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, and press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.

If you've windows 7 that may be an issue. On top of that i can't even use my patcher to get into the game, I go directly to Anthem.exe they told me to take firewall off to get it to work right. But no luck, and I really don't need to check for patches every time I decide to open a client. At the number of times I open up new clients a day it'd just be a waste of time. btw if you have windows 7 be sure to use the correct *.exe

ummm we're talking about how to fix your issues. and honestly because I think your virtual memory takes like 2gigs it's not working right (your PC) try running CCleanrer, or else if you don't have it run clean disk or whatever if you do. /hmm sorry I went from 98 to XP.... so I'm not 100% sure on the capabilities that 2000 or 2002 has.

Well, I'm not sure, but I believe, the free space shouldn't be the issue (more than 1 GB free space should be enough for RO, although it is really pretty low, especially for other applications). There is no Windows 2002 @_@ so you are probably using Windows 2000.
"Ialmdd S.DLL" seems to be some DirectDraw Driver for Intel Graphics. DirectX 9 was distributed with Windows XP, but not yet with Windows 2003, so try downloading DirectX 9 from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/B/7/9/B79FC9D7-47B8-48B7-A75E-101DEBEB5AB4/directx_aug2009_redist.exe And if that doesn't work, try downloading a new video card driver from www.intel.com!
Title: Re: Problems Opening AnthemRO.
Post by: Fyrezblaze on December 10, 2009, 04:36:29 pm
it compressed about 3.5 million bytes, which i believe is 3.5 gb Q.q

Fidelis actually it does tend to be an issue ^_^,, I've had RO crash cause of no space. And depending on how much he's using for virtual memory depicts how much he needs. I was recording videos w/ fraps and lost track of how much I had recorded.
EDIT: So it wasn't me w/ the 2002 thing? I just went w/ the flow and figured I'd just never heard of it. /heh

O.o my bad, im using windows XP, 2002 version. at least thats what it said when i typed "sysdm.cpl" in the run option.
Title: Re: Problems Opening AnthemRO.

Yeah, space usually is an issue, but if there is really low space, Windows usually gives a warning, and I believe, virtual RAM is set up this way so that it doesn't take up ALL of the remaining free space, but Windows 2000 is rather old, and I haven't used it in ages (actually, I had to use it back in February when my laptop was broken <_< but yeah), so I'm not sure if it's really working like this.
The blue screen error however indicates that something is wrong with this Ialmdd.DLL file, and if you google it, you find out that it's some DirectDraw/Intel stuff.

Well, then DirectX 9 should already be installed. Try updating your video card drivers!

Best way I know of is.... Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Information >> this is where I get a little foggy so bare w/ me please I am on my vista and to lazy to turn XP on. ok I believe it's under the View tab but it's like Dr X or something about Diagnostics. if you click that it'll give you a Very well detailed and organized window of your PC hard ware. Also it's prettier than using some other things on your computer. Anyways in there look for Video card or graphics card or something like that. Should have data on it so you'll be able to go to whatever manufacturer it is put in the model number of the card and be able to download it.

that's it /ho sorry been forever since I did this on XP
EDIT: Also if you save a text file on your desktop and never delete it you can use that laters. It has pretty much all system info in there which is nice to have.

@_@ Hmm, then, could go click on Start, and then on "Run..." afterwards; now, type in "dxdiag" and click on OK. Now, in the window that pops up, click on the "Display" tab, there should be the name of your video card. It would be awesome if you could screenshot this window and post it here, or just post the name and manufacturer of your video card!

Press the Print Screen (PrtScn or w/e) key on your keyboard, then go to Start->Run...-> type in: "mspaint" (without the "", of course). Now, I believe you need to click on the "Edit" menu, and then on "Paste". Afterwards, safe the screenshot as a JPG file somewhere, then go to www.tinypic.com, and upload the file there, and post the link to it here!

Glad you got it working. Just keep your free space as high as possible, like FangerZero said, and you shouldn't run into any more problems. Also, please do not try to double post, but edit your previous post by using the "Modify" button. :<
