Title: Is this a bug?
Post by: ~Deyna~ on November 20, 2009, 10:58:46 pm
In Pront Culvert, with the GTB, A bunch of people are using an AI glitch to continuously farm XP from an unlimited amount of Male thiefbug spawns. 4 people are just sitting there farming EXP forever. I'm not positive, but isn't that abusing the AI system?

Its not a "glitch" its using the ai on the homunculus to be aggressive towards the spawned monsters to get experience for the homunculus. Its not cheating.

So, forever farming EXP without risk? /swt

As one of the four doing said 'abuse' I say that we set the ai to kill male thiefbugs, just not gtb. So they kill the mob, and GTB doesn't aggro on us. I don't see how it's cheating =\

We're training our homuns.

It goes the same for people who afk in orc dungeon two and other maps with no "threat".

Meh, just checking. Notice I didn't kill it and call you noobs.

Maybe, except that it's random... it's not camping an MVP and killing the mob by forcing the MVP AI to stay in that spot by using it's greed ability against it.

Again, just checking. No hard feelings.

If you had called us noobs I would question why, considering noob implies we are doing something stupid.

In no way is this abusing the AI, this is just like if one was to have their homoc not attack a galiion, and only attack it's roweens, or any other monster that has spawns. It's not like we're preventing anyone from killing GTB.

I agree with Takhara... I really don't see the problem. Its no different and is no different from what i saw a swordsman doing once.. Using Magnum break around GTB because fire doesn't hurt GTB, thus killing nothing but all the Male thiefbugs... Is that exploiting the GTB's resistance?

Also, yeah, its not a glitch.

Edit due to new replies: Glad it seems to have resolved without me? xD

If ever someone could help me with my homunc AI, I'd join you.

If ever someone could help me with my homunc AI, I'd join you.

I could try to help you. My friend always had issues with it, so if you'd like I could just send you a working AI and walk you through how to install it. The only thing about my version is that the Dancing_AI is included.

It changes this:
elseif (MyState == ATTACK_ST) then
OnATTACK_ST ()

to

elseif (MyState == ATTACK_ST) then
if ((GetV( V_SP, MyID) * 100) / GetV( V_MAXSP, MyID) > 1) then
OnATTACK_ST ()
local zx, zy = GetV( V_POSITION, MyEnemy )
Move(MyID,zx+1,zy)
Move(MyID,zx-1,zy)
OnATTACK_ST ()
Move(MyID,zx,zy+1)
Move(MyID,zx,zy-1)
else
OnATTACK_ST ()
end

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

What this does is it works around the animation delays for homocs by making them move upon attacking, and thus allows them to attack nearly 2x's as fast. The only downside is that they lose the ability to recover SP, and HP while attacking, because they're constantly moving. It's nice for low level homocs and lifs!

It's all already done in my USER_AI folder. I just have one filed named AI.lua, which is my normal AI, and then another named AI+.lua, which is the edited one. Whenever I want the dancing AI, I just renamed AI+ to AI, and the original AI to AI_.

Actually, it sorta is (the MVP farming thing)... MVP Slaves are not supposed to give any EXP or drop any loot.
