Title: Mac Mini and Anthem?

Hey guys, i used to play aRO quite a bit and I kinda miss it and I wanna try to play again. One problem, I own a Mac now. Macs are great and whatnot, but they can't run games. I'm aware of Crossover and other things like that, but can Anthem run on Macs?

Last time I asked a couple of months ago I got a, "Of course you can, just download it through Mozilla Firefox," but I never tried that.

Any suggestions?

To make it work on Mac, you'd need something like Bootcamp.

Bootcamp is built right in with new macs. Basically you'll need a windows disc and install it so you will a dual boot. when you want to play games that are exclusive to windows just boot in your windows partition.

Or Use parallels or VM ware fusion. [dont know what they are?google it]

yeah, but will Anthem work with these dual system programs? (i.e- bootcamp, crossover, VM)

So I:

Buy Boot Camp(do I need a copy of Windows with this?)

and just install Anthem?

Boot Camp is Built right in if you have leopard or snow leopard so you dont need to buy it. And yes you need a copy of windows

For bootcamp, just follow the official Apple instructions here to set up bootcamp and install windows.

Make sure you have a compatible copy of windows though, some pirated or tweaked copies or certain Service Packs don't work for some reason.

Once you've gotten windows installed and the drivers installed your Mini is pretty much a PC. You can install Anthem as you would on a non-mac system.

VMware, I would not reccomend as I'm not certain how powerful a mini's graphics card is, but on my 13" 2009 MBP there is a mouse lag issue.

Anthem CAN run on Crossover Games; this is how I am currently running it. I'm running mine on 10.5.8 and Crossover Games 7.12 however, and I am not certain if it is compatible with 10.6 and Crossover Games 8. I would assume so, and if you want to give it a shot, follow the instructions here: http://www.ghm.demon.co.uk/documents/how-to-play-ragnarok-online-on-mac-os-x.html

If you run through Crossover, your will have to patch manually as for some reason the patcher will not launch.
