Title: Undead Element Resistance at Niff?
Post by: xTodesengelx on October 23, 2009, 06:53:42 pm
I just got a +7 Khalitz buckler from a friend and it really helps a lot. I still take around 100-120 damage from Dullahans though. I take insanely less damage from Disguises and Gibbets...
I use my High Priest when I do Niff. I use Assumptio all the time, too which also greatly reduces the damage.
I was wondering what I could use to raise my resistance to Undead element from Dullahans and other creatures that are Undead on that map (or any map with undeads on it?).
Here is what I use...
+4 Black Cat Kaho Missy minis +4 Dexterous Survivor's Rod (DEX) +7 Eddga Shoes +6 Saint's Robe of Champion +7 Khalitzburg Buckler +4 Monsoon Muff x2 Sting Glove
I was thinking I might be able to raise that Demon Bane Divine Protection passive skill that the HP has...but that is a waste of 10 skill points for +30 resistance and I would lose out on two/three mandatory skills

get a tirfing shield, khalitz doesnt reduce from dullahans, theyre undead and mid size
also the armor might be worth changing, garm is the best for a HP there, bathory for a WS but also good to have on hp
you mean Divine Protection? I got it at level 10 on my HP
Demon Bane buffs your regular attacks against demon/undead

Yeah, I meant Divine Protection...XD
I always get those two mixed up.
A friend of mine told me Tirfing wasn't the best choice. Either if you use Khalitz or Tirfing.
Khalitz is resistant to Disguises and Gibbet Tirfing is resistant to Dullahans and the other medium monsters. Disguises are small, hylos are small, gibbets are large?. I'd take more damage with a Tirfing on. Plus it's more expensive.
As for Garm. It is one of my armors I am saving for eventually. Bathory might be a close choice before Garm

if you have HP wouldn't you be able to switch your stem worm garment for a devi muffler and still have IC? That would reduce the damage quite a bit.

tirfing (or teddy bear) + devi + assumptio + angelus lvl 7 or 8 = should be adequate enough to tank any amount of enormous mob. :) at least that's what i use. bathory would probably help loads too, or a holy robe. reduction from dullahans, who do the most damage, is more important than the miniscule in comparison damage from gibbets and disguises.

Yes replace khalitz with tirfing and monsoon with immune. Then you could get bathory/holy robe (really cheap). xD

For armor, I prefer disguise armor because it helps reduce the zapping of SP from whatever does that and silences the monsters that can do some major damage, but it might not be what you're looking for if you want to reduce physical damage.

I choose Tirfing over Khalitz. Dullahans (size medium), as single enemy are the ones that deal the most damage in Niff. While Disguises (size medium) being the most plentiful when you mob. Now, when I mob, I always have a large number of Disguises in it, and usually go after any Dullahan I see. Thus I have quite a lot of Dullahan and Disguises in my mobs. While not being the most serious threat by themselves, a large group of Disguise can do some serious damage. So I would rather reduce the damage I receive from those two monsters in particular, than any others. Hylo and Quves are small, and the damage Quves deal is laughable and Hylos dont deal much damage either (after basic niff gear reduction). Gibbets (size large) are too scarce in Niff to cause any threat while mobbing. So for me its Tirfing>Khalitz in Niff.
