Title: Troubleshooting for Mir AI
Post by: lyra_kurenai on October 01, 2009, 09:36:34 am
Hello everyone,
I recently started playing RO again after a break of about two years, and I'm trying desperately to install Mir AI on my computer. Whenever I try to run config.exe, I get this message:
Cannot find constants that define behaviours and skill usages in Const.lua! Please install this utility in the same folder of Mir AI 0.9 or better
I don't understand computer lingo at all. What does that mean?

you installed mirai control panel on the wrong folder
be sure it is on aRO USER_AI folder
edit: already posted what you have to do on the thread you posted before

*nods* It most definitely is... mirai_cp_setup.exe in C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO\AI\USER_AI. That's what you're talking about, right?

I heard that MirAI doesn't work because of the Mercenary system...? Is that true, and if so, is that the problem?

thats fake, after mercenaries got implemented, only thing about mirai that stopped working was auto alchemist attacks and auto pot pitching. everything else works correctly

Oh, awesome. Thanks for the clear-up. But if Pot pitch is dead and auto-attack (by the chemist) is gone, what else does it do? I personally only used it for pot pitch :S

You can customize your Homunculus' AI behavior against various enemies (avoid, attack first, attack last, etc) / if it will use skills or not / whether it will focus on tanking an enemy hostile to it or aid you if attacked, etc.
Good way of making it prioritize or even deal with annoying pests when leveling somewhere.

/ok
just adding that with mirai you can make your homun solo some mvps like amon, if its one vanil just set "amon ra - skill: no skill" and you can just sit and wait for amon to die (you might want to pitch some pots to it now and then)

How does that exactly work? Amon Ra won't attack a Vanilmirth homunculus?

obviously it does, however if it uses bolts amon will spawn khalitz. plus since vanil should have high flee. you only need to pot pitch when amon use (and if it takes effect) dark blessing

Ah, I see. It's reliant on the Vanilmirth's flee. So I'm guessing the 80+ ones are ideal (aka the ones usually able to flee well in Nif?).
I haven't used my blob in since I got to bio, so I'm forgotten that fact it seems.

you should, i normally sacrifice mine to lure/tank a few seconds to give me chance to AD once or twice /gg
Competition-wise, I've found myself only able to really successfully find Phreeroni when I'm in the mood to go MvPing (level 75 biochemist). Killing him was quite easy, so I never considered a lure. Well, Maya is *usually* there; she always tele'd quite annoyingly.
I was quite glee-ful when I actually was able to find Garm one day in Lutie Field. I got MvP, but the effect was rather spoiled when a Sin X dealt the finishing blow.
I went after Eddga; killing him wasn't worth the experience it felt like for all the trouble. Though my blob probably would have been useful for keeping the regular aggressive monsters off him (never considered it at the time---I just ice falchioned things before swapping back to bazerald).
I've never really thought of a MvP that I'd really have the bait for.
I pretty much was taught the throw an AD or two, fly wing, find again, repeat.
