compress a file, and what is the recommended application to do it with ? Please give me a small walkthrough, as I need to compress the about 1.6 gig sakray file down to...about 980 mb if possible. I have winrar right now, but I have no idea how to compress a file, as I haven't done so before. I kind of dont want to mess it up lol.

It won't compress down to that size.  The most it'll go down to is 1.2gigs.  I tried it with WinRar and the regular windows compressor.  =X

Is there a way I can split the file, or get it in two different parts somehow ?

I think winrar has that option. Right click the sakray then choose add to archive then a box should appear then at the bottom there should be some options to split it. But I think that's only for CDS/DVDS.
