Ok I know i saw something about  this before but I fail at searching. So ro is just broke on W7 with no fix?

We're using V-Shield, and atm, V-Shield doesn't support Windows 7 yet, it's even on their website. I believe there will be a fix sometime, since V-Shield is a pure Windows application as far as I know, and since new computers get shipped with Windows 7 soon, they really SHOULD update their software. Unfortunately, it's nothing we GMs can do.

I have Windows 7 on a second computer, and tried all compatibility stuff, but to no avail. :(

I tried running XP in a virtual machine but and run ARO from that but it never detects my video card  thus not able to run the game. Will this run in Ubuntu?

It will run with Wine just fine, however, when I tried running it, it was slow as hell, because my ATI video card was not supported by Wine, so it had to use software rendering which is way slower than hardware rendering.

(I read somewhere that ATI video cards were not yet fully supported by Wine's OpenGL, so unless you are using NVidia with the proprietary 3D driver, you're probably out of luck.)

Lame lame. After 3 years of playing in dialup I finally get cable and my OS brings me down. Thanks for the info.
