Title: Question about coding & aegis
Post by: Aryia on July 31, 2009, 11:40:52 am
Is it possible to code it so like, a shield made you invincible to a certain skill, on Aegis servers?
Example: Card/Shield/Whatever makes you invincible to asura. Sort of like GTB, except with.. Asuras.

Yeah, it is. GM items make them immune to ALL hits - how? I don't know. The only skill that eats through GM items is Earthquake, and thats a MVP skill.

Alright, thanks.

err, not really immunity. what they have is some ultra high perfect dodge earthquake bypass that so they can die with those

Perfect dodge blocks asura now?

No, perfect dodge doesn't work against skills.

Okay. Yuyuko has regular gears and GM gears, and when she uses regular gears - yeah Asura hits. When she puts on GM gears, and I Asura, it does nothing, a "Lucky" doesn't pop over her head, and neither does my skill say "Miss." Nothing happens, plain and simple.

mm, forgot that detail. its like a buffed perma sw effect

Thought it was more of a buffed 100% reduction to all elements and damage/hits. It can't be SW effect because the damage effect took place - like when you hit someone wearing ED and you are poison enchanted; you don't see damage but you see the hit effect (not the character flinching).

Same as how you can change Thara vs. Toad, only 100%...

So they can only code demi-human %s? And not individual skills like asura?
Title: Re: Question about coding & aegis

They have the special GM item called the Talis Card.
Talis Card - Compound with all items.
Suffix: Of Ownage.
GTB Card Effect. Perfect Dodge +100. Reduce all Elemental and Neutral damage by 100%. Instant power level boost +9000.
So they can only code demi-human %s? And not individual skills like asura?
You can code for reductions, or nulls, but for specific skills - doubt it. I've never seen it on anything.

I'd imagine that it may be possible due specifically to the fact that you can increase/reduce specific skills damages on the user. Such as: Meg for Champ, the cards for: Napalm Vulcan, JT, Arrow Vulcan, Double Strafe, etc, all have increase % dmg for those skills based on a card. So assuming that it should be possible to have a card that negates the same % damage on the defendant vs. the attacker. My best logic =/

I wonder if we could make it the other way around, as well. Such as, increase damage with shield chain by 300% against champions.

It's actually called an example, to better clarify my questions. Keep in mind that my champ is better geared than yours <_<.
Lol, oh okay. Unless you have a +10 Suiken, I doubt that. But anyways, I don't really care either way.

With that said, I am looking for a definitive counter for Champs. I don't think nerfing Champs anymore will help, because weakening their SQIs more will make them not even worth buying.. But they really do need a counter. Best PvP class, great in WoE, best for leeching LH3, able to leech Thor, great for MvPing, etc. I think that they need a big weakness somewhere, to make up for all the imbalance.

Try playing Star Gladiator.
Heat and Hatred with dual Megs and a DTT book, as well as effective uses of kicks, you'd rape a Champ like a baby. FSK relos on them, draining their SP gone, fast aspd kicks with round kicks, etc., stun them and crits doing 1k+ and an unlimited array of elements from WW.
Not even the best Ygging pro champs can kill a GOOD Star Glad.

I severly doubt that Star Glads are the definitive counter for Champs. At least, I've never seen a good Champ get downed by a SG, I've never been downed by a SG myself, but I guess I'll see for myself once I get my hands on a +10 Book[3].

I was actually getting a Book[3] for a DTP so I could leech all my chars in Thors. I've been trying to get a book[3] for a few days now :P

we can always edit the skill tree so champs can't get all the skills they are able to get now. im not sure how we could rearrange them but that something that can be done.

I can safely say, wrong, and that you need to try shit out before you go posting it on the forums like you know what you're talking about. You won't even get half of 1k damage with crits in PvP against a champ wearing Toad.

TargetThis is the interesting part, this seems to define the person on whom this bonus applies to. And target means the person who gets hit by this skill. There is a second parameter for this called user which should affect the person equipping this.
