i want to use linux as my OS so i can play ro on linux?

Using the Wine API, it should work. You might get some other errors due to the nature of Wine and Linux, since RO is a pure Windows application, and Wine often crashes for no obvious reason. However, if you are using an ATI video card, RO will most likely not run smoothly, because Wine isn't able to switch to OpenGL/hardware mode (as far as I know, last time I tested, it didn't work), and it will always run in software mode (3D in software mode = very slow).

I run RO in wine with a GeForce 7600 GT, and he's right. It doesn't really hit the card, but it maxes out a processor. I couldn't dual client until I upgraded to a dual core processor. It also will only run on the main monitor in a dual monitor setup. It works fine for me with only one minor exception: you can't alt+click to move a homunc as it gets passed to the window manager and moves the client instead. Never really been an issue for me, though.
