Sin was my first character. I found it easy to lvl with nub gears because of double attack ans the ability to equipment 2 weapons. Also you can go to TF and farm cakes (use steal). Thats how I made my money before my ws.
btw, welcome to Anthem =D

dont go merchant unless u plan to donate some (smith) or afk a LOT (alchemist), they are very hard to start with, but make 1 for overcharge and discount knight/crusader - easy to get use to for survival, usually no rush to catch opportune moments; fairly good at lvling; money is mediocure; fast movement on peco assassin - fastest 1 target killing machine; flee build is sometimes dangerous, vit build usually requires some good gear; most adaptive in terms of weapons because of variety and therefore most expensive to get "good"; can be good for money gathering with steal (detail becuz this is my first class xD) rogue - jack of all some trades, can use bow + magic, dagger or sword builds; fairly high flee, good for pvm; can copy offensive skills from other players; very good at money making because of auto steal wizard - easy to lvl due to long range; most monsters have low magic defence; very fragile until later in the game; atks include most elements for easy adaption; easy to hit high dmg; can atk multiple monsters w/ ease; mediocure at money making sage - the hardier version of a wizard, does not have as many spells to choose from, but very good for various passive skills to enhance survival rate; can be very good combined with soul linker; mediocure at money gathering hunter - long range, fagile, all elements, high dmg just like wizard, except this would be physical dmg; has longest range of all classes and many pushback skills to enhance survival; can have pet falcon which can do extra dmg automatically; not good for mobbing; mediocure at money making bard/dancer - very much a supportive class; can do decent dmg but not as good as most other classes for dmg; long range and all elements; good to have in a party; mediocure money priest - high survivability due to buffs and heals; can solo or support very good; many skills for interesting builds; fairly easy to lvl w/ semi ranged skills; always wanted in parties; money can be ok but fairly low until later on monk - fast atk speed when using fist weapons; many combo skills that can do high dmg right away; very sturdy for health but lacks flee; fairly good at lvling; also include some buffs from acolyte class; can do high burst dmg w/ certain skills (~_~...); mediocure at money making super novice - jack of all trades, has access to all first class (swordsman, acolyte, etc.) skills and can pull off amazing combinations; low health and sp; stats are also low compared to most classes; restricted for armor but has special armor/weapon that are way better than most others; can be VERY good at high lvls; cannot transcend, money depends on build gunslinger - sort of like hunter with more options on guns and less elements in the normal bullets; cannot make own ammo and has to buy them, but fairly cheap to do so; low dmg compared to hunter; is considered a skill based class, very good at skill spamming; has medium survival rate; fairly good money making but some of it is spent on bullets; can be very good at lvling at 80+; cannot transcend ninja - mostly uses magic builds, melee build lacks some kick w/o good weapons; good at spamming certain skills, has many elements to work with; has splash dmg skills and has 100% dodge skills; good survival rate most of the time until mobbed from all sides; fairly easy to start with; money is mediocure; cannot transcend star gladiator - never played it much; has good atk skills at the expense of draining sp and can only be set on few locations that you cannot change; good hand to hand combat even w/o much gears because of several atk related skills; can have good atk speed w/ no weapon + aspd skills; has access to almost all elements; mediocure at money making soul linker - good magic build, but does not work on players; very many buffs as well making it able to become a support character; very good at pvm with high survival rate due to buffs; preferable in parties and guilds; hard to start with due to lack of atk skills at beginning but once atk skills are required it is very easy to lvl; has access to almost all elements; money making is ok
*feel free to add on to it as im not an expert on most classes, i dont even know TOO much for assassins xD

I think u should make 2 chars, which is 1 swordman and 1 merchant to sell and buy items from npc so u can save some money to buy better gears and weapon to level ur's swordman. Till then u can think of what class u want to change (Knight or Crusader).
BTW, Welcome to the game.

i agree that you should make a merchant with basic overcharge/discount/vending skills when starting in joint with another job. but in my opinion a good starting job would be thief class either sin or rogue. i cant say for you because i dont know your style, but for me thief class is the easiest to level. plus they are really good at making money. i have both, and a rogue at lower levels will be better for making money in my opinion.

I dont think there is a definitive best class. I think its all up to preference, and honestly you should try a few classes before you choose one you really like and decide to level.

Tough choice xD Get either sader or sin. Both can mob in prison u can get to lvl 75+ easily. Then for sader u might wanna try out niff and for sin try out moscovia.
