Title: Help!! How to make high quality emblems?

I already look for an answer to this in the forum, (and yeah, the artist's corner too) but i didn't find it.

I've seen that many guilds have emblems with a lot of colors (more than the sad quantity of 256 different colors XD), and even gradients of high quality, shines, etc.

How do you do that??!, i have been trying to make a decent emblem but failed every time i tried, the final image always screwed up because can't afford to have many colors.

I use photoshop XD

If anyone could tell me the big secret i would be very happy XD

do you mean the colours change after you save the image?

if yes, save as a .bmp file.

I always save it as bmp file, the thing is that a bmp file can't afford to have a good quality as a 8bit bitmap format (which is a needed characteristic for emblem images). The thing is that how does some emblems can be so good in quality and use even good gradients in an 8 bit format??

I'm going to tell you what do i do.
Once the image is finished (a 24x24 image) i save it as a bitmap image in photoshop, but since it can't save in 8 bit format (dunno why) y save it as a 256 bitmap and then open it in Paint and change its format to 8 bit, what makes a screwed up image with horrible color changes. That's exactly what i'm trying to avoid.

No.

Save the file as a 24 bitmap image and you should be fine.

don't save it in 8 bit.

Worked perfectly, thanks a lot, i always tried to follow the rules from FAQ, that's why i always was saving it in 8 bit format XD
