Hello, I'm new to RO and of course AnthemRo!  If you see me walking by say hello!  Boy do I have a lot of questions too!
But I will post those on the Mage froum if there is one.  I figured out how to change to a mage job, and will now try to figure out how to take the next step!  If you have any hints please let me know.

Ok thanks for the tip, Ill definitely check that out!  Btw, how do I get to Geffen from the starting location?  Apparently the Mage school is in Geffen so I would like to travel there!  Any tips?

Well, if you're wanting to walk there, use RMS for maps.  But, you can use the warp girl in any town/outside any dungeon. :)

Yes, I have found the job changer in the starting city, and I changed to a mage.  Are you speaking of a different job changer?  This is so confusing >.<  Because I read somewhere that I should have a certain level of something( I forget what now)  As a mage to eventually become A wizard.

And yeah, you need to be atleast job 40 to be a Wizard.

we have a custom npc that allows you to change to any job once you have the requirement without actually doing the quest. in few click of your mouse, ull be a mage right away. also we have a npc that allows you to reset stats point and skill points in case you messed up on it. you can use shortcuts like "/dex+ #" or "/int+ #" etc, by typing in on the chat bar. make sure there is a "space" inbetween the "+" and the "#" (# is the specified number of stats point that you would like to dedicate).
you can find those npc at alberta and prontera.

the alberta npc is on the very center north  part of the map. once you warped to alberta, just keep heading north and you'll find them there.

the prontera npc is located on the center part of prontera(were the foundtain is) it should be the building located in the lower left part of the FOUNTAIN. you'll notices alot of people going in and out of that building.

Wow thanks for the map!  that will help alot!  I will probably travel by foot at first to get a feel for the land rather than warping, as long as the monsters aren't too hard for me yet!  I tend to learn better by doing things myself, and I also wish to see what this game has to offer!

Ok 2 Job changers, check.  Well i had found the first one last night!  Now if I ever find Alberta, ill make sure to find her too!  And I have to have 40 JOB levels of mage before i can become a Wizard.  Ok, thats a good start!  Now I have a goal, and will try to find good places to grind so I can eventually get to 40!  Btw, could I go to a higher job level as a mage?  Or is 40 the cut off point, and then you either dont increase or have to change jobs to get more powerful?  Thanks for all the replies btw, this is all VERY helpful ;)

For mages, trying to get job 50 before becoming a wizard is good.

Job 50 is max.

i have a drops dex survivor that you might be interested. you can have it. its  not a necessary tool for mage but extra dex helps you alot once you become a wizard.

if your a new mage. i suggestion you to get full int all the way. meaning, reset your stat points and allocate all your stat to int. and try getting your soul strike skills first to level 10 before anything else(excluding prerequisite of course) then go to the npc that i was talking about in prontera. and talk to "anne the stylist". she's the npc that allows you to change your hair dye and clothe dye. once you  talk to her, you should have an option saying something like "shut up and give your money". select that option and you'll find yourself at prison. prison is mainly common leveling ground for newbies alike. on that map, its allowed to KillSteal, meaning you can cast a spell on a monster even though somebody else is killing it already.
(read the rule regarding KillSteall MAP to find more about it)

And if you die, you'll go back to your spawn point.  Just go back to Anne, and this time tell her you're sorry, close it out, then redo it.

if you want you way out, just commit suicide /heh or better yet, have handy butterfly wing to warp you to your saved map. also i forgot to mention, lets say you died at prison, or teleported back to your town, just go back to anne stylist and select the option "im sorry.... something" then talk to her again you'll notice the "shut up and give me your money" option will be available. thats the easy way to prison.

Ok I have a new question now >.<  I just found a card with stat abilities on it, and it looks like I have to compound it onto a wepon.  How do I do that?  Sorry for all the questions! ;)

Unequip the weapon and double click the card.  But make sure the card's not too good, or else you mgiht be wasting it by slotting it into something not overupped.  And the forums is your friend. xD

Alright thanks for the info!  I put a lunatic card into my staff!  Hopefully ill find more, though it looks like my staff only has 2 slots

first of all. dont double post  /heh. use the modify button on the upper rigth corner of your post.
secondly, it would be really easy to figure out what to keep and what not to keep by askig people around prontera. posting the items here that you got from monster drop will be time consuming.
find a nice people in prontera XD be sure you are nice too you approach them XD

To PM..do you see the little box next to the longer chat bar box?  Enter a person's name there.  To go back to 'normal' chatting, backspace their name. :)

just be nice to people and they will be nice to you too. find a friendly guild that will not just benefit you but also benefit them(somehow). dont expect people to be nice to you all the time becasue like in real life, there are some jerks here too lurking around.

also, dont beg for money or gears as people will just ignore you. people here in general dont like newbie asking for gears. i see this case almost everyday. im not telling you that you will do it, but just beware.

Prison is a good place to level for beginner, mage can level in there easily (just make sure u know how to handle it)...
