Title: when to change?
Post by: silentblade0619 on March 02, 2009, 04:39:36 pm
I was wondering if someone could give me a job changing walk through or something.

I know it starts like this:

change to 2nd job around job lvl 40

but when do i change and what do i change into after that?

(Assassin)

Thanks!

novice(10)>first class(thief)>second class(99 sin)>rebirth novice(10)>high first class(hgih thief 40/50 recommended)>transcend second class(sinx) and no more unless you rollback(but its not a rebirth where u keep skills)

Some clarifications and recommendations:

Unless you have pretty good gears it is recommended you do not change your novice as soon as you hit job level 10, as the novice gears will make you stronger than a first job character is at first and will therefore allow you to level up more quickly than if you change right away.

Generally you can change job for any class at job level 40 (some of the extended classes have different requirements) but some classes are better off going to job level 50, either because they get certain bonus stats at job level 50 or because the extra skill points are necessary (priest/monk class is one example where this is recommended) - and I recommend always going to job level 50 on first class trans chars.  Getting to job level 50 takes more time and work though, and for many classes it is not strictly necessary.

quick question, are you talking about the base lvl or the job lvl? if you're talking about the base lvl, can you tell me what lvl the job lvl should be at at each step? Thanks!

What do you mean by this?

Scroll down to the bottom where it has the job bonuses for all the classes.  Every character gets certain bonus stats for reaching a certain job level.  It's a small bonus usually, but sometimes it's pretty important (for example, if you can't afford SQIs you will need every point of bonus dex you can get in order to hit IC on a wizard).  These are not part of the base stat, incidentally, they're added to it.  That's why you will usually see +x to stats even if you aren't wearing any equipment.

Ok maybe I am not understanding this but... dont you lose job stat bonus once you change from lets say swordsman to knight.

At job 50 a swordsman will get a job stat bonus of +7 Str, it will not retain that +7 str bonus once you become a knight right?
