Title: Help w/ RO and vista

So i got a new laptop
and it came with the dreaded vista, couldnt opt out couldnt do anything about it


so ive installed RO, couldnt get alternative sakray to update
so i copied my folders over from my old laptop.

everything is fine up until i a) attempt to patch using our client or b) attempt to bypass.

when it attempts to update it randomly crashes towards the final updates
and force closes.

if i try to bypass it to open my game client
i get this msg

"cannot init d3d OR grf file has problem"

....uhh that's word for word what it says

i was told it may be a driver issue ...graphics card etc
so i updated my graphics card which failed?

it told me "the driver being installed is not validated for this computer.
please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer
setup will now exit"

...but im 100% sure this is the exact video card

...its ...mobile intel R GMA 4500MHD  and i have the like regular vista  32bit

any help?

and if i installed from scratch the client, and the patcher
and i use sakrayUP ...it fails to write "sakray.exe" which is why i just copied my whole gravity folder over.
and it still fails to update the client.

any info?  (  i tried seraching our forusm for anyone with similar problems and had no success)

At first, disable the UAC (= User Account Control): Go to "Start", and click on your user avatar. Afterwards, click on the link to turn off the User Account Control. Restart.
Then, make sure to start the patcher etc. as an administrator, especially when the folder is located in C:\Program Files.

Regarding the issue with your video card: Go to setup.exe at first (start it as an administrator!), and try to change the resolution. If you are able to do that, your video card driver is installed, and DirectX is able to work with it. Sometimes, you just need to open setup.exe, and close it right afterwards, so the values get written into the Windows Registry, and you won't get another d3d error.

thank you fidelis, but i have another problem

so i got the game open and all

but when i attempt to open anthempatch.exe
it keeps attempting to start patching from 2007, it seems to crash when it gets closer to our newest updates

vista notifies me that it stopped working and closes it.
I don't know why it crashes or what it exactly crashes on as it closes the update window..
and...my adata files are all up to date, just ran through pront with no problems and things like santa poring hat show up on my computer

so...how can i fix this patcher issue?
since if a new update comes out, itll just crash when attempting to update?

Hmm, try this [apatch.inf] (http://www.mediafire.com/?njxww3ajdmo) and [AnthemPatch.exe] (http://www.mediafire.com/?xyjgowyoz2w). Put both files into your RO folder, overwrite the old ones, and see if it works.
