Is it worth it to upgrade shackles for a bsb?

if u are playing with a defensive chac then go with +7 if not +4  ;D ;D

I broke a few +9s going for +10 ._.
and when I went +10 I finally had celebs, That's how long it took >.>

(I prob have some +7 somewhere >.>)

+6 Shackles are equal to +7 boots to the defense is nice, i used BSB on all my chars before i got my DL shoes.

You can get +6 pretty easy, i only went through about 2 shackles before i got them.

Assuming you work from a base of 10 shackles, which in all fairness are readily available from the dirge and drudgery of Anne the Stylist...

You will use a minimum of 250,000z and 50 elunium (if you assume the worst and all shackles break at the +5 mark) just to even have a 40% of making one +7 shackles from the remaining 2.4 shackles from the +6 - +7 mark. In the end, you'll end up breaking a load more then 10 unless lady luck happens to be smiling upon you.

All this for 2.1% DEF, on a heavy item that wouldn't be used by any class worth its salt in the long run.

I don't recall there being a necessity to have +7 shackles to activate the attack bonus from the balls of blood. It just says "[+ shackless] + 100 Attack" or something along those lines.

BSB requires shackles otherwise you won't get the +100 ATK, its like a DI+DL card combo.

As I said in my earlier post, most people upgraed their footgear to +7 as a basic mark, for shackles to have the same level of defense you only need to +6 it which is very easy.

If your planning on making that your staple choice of equipment then yeah because the difference between making a +4 and a +6 is not alot of time\zeny yet the extra def is always nice.

+7 or higher wouldn't be worth it unless your playing a pally\sader and wanna wear a +10 shackle for a laugh. : /

They probably only said not worth it because of the re-sell factor.
I found my +7 shackles, if you would like to rid me of them; low price of 300k ;o

it would be worth it if u dont have other footgears like mystel,eddga,DL etc...

Not too sure about that, when i played Sniper i used Shackle\BSB combo for PvM and used DL when in PvP\WoE Situations.

totally worth for a WS with no megs /gg
i keep switching for +?boots to +?shackles in niff


Edit:
eddga boots

With DL DI combo never switched them tho cause you'd be losing a lot of HP everytime

I would nif with my sinx and switch between shackles and eddga shoes since I have no other footgear that I care about

just +7 its ok no need to go +8 to 10

it takes me just 4 shackles and 19 elu to make a +7 thou  ;D

and shackles are easy to farm in GH and elu also.....
