Title: What happened to these :[?
Post by: Ultra Violence on January 04, 2009, 01:59:56 pm
I was looking forward to all of these so much. :(
Quote from: Talis
1) A new Guild vs. Guild based Combat mode - 95% Complete This is one of my main projects. I figured that players don't see too much of me - OR - my work. So I went out of my way to create the biggest custom content yet ! Custom content that is needed. I am sure you have seen posts around how WoE is getting boring and is just the same thing over and over.. well, I went out of my way to take the best parts about WoE and making something even better out of it! AnthemRO is a very competitive server, and this should definitely make it much more interesting. As far as progress goes, the mode itself is done and works fine. The only thing really left to do is make the website statistics tracking, which I am working on together with Zapbomb! Thanks goes out for all the staff for helping me find bugs and giving alternative solutions for some problems! Some highlights: 1) No more domination by those who spam the most GJ / Whites. In this mode any foreign healing objects will instantly reduce your health to 0. You do however get special potions that you can use in this arena - but they come in limited supplies. This means you must manage your potion usage wisely! 2) In this mode, both guilds have to be on their toes! There is no "one side attacks, one side defends" , no, in this mode everyone must defend AND attack at the same time! 3) Website statistic tracking allows everyone to see how pwnsauce your guild is. Or how many times you died while holding a... 4) Powerup. The arena features game-breaking powerups that spawn every so often. IF you die holding one however.. its gone for good. 5) It can be played at any time! No more having to wait for those 2 hours to get your Guild vs. Guild fix.
2) A PHP <=> Ragnarok Online API, 90% complete This is something for the tech oriented people. I have been working on a big collection of well-coded functions to make item management via the website extremely easy and efficient. With this API, all sorts of item modification modules become much easier to code. This was the main reason why the Event Coin Module took so long, but it is worth it. Unfortunately this is something that only really benefits me directly, but since it makes my life much easier, it will mean that I can churn out innovative things at a much faster pace than ever before.
3) Unslotter, Kaho Changer, Itemviewer etc., 50% complete The basic structure of those exists already, what I need to do still is changing the code to utilize the new API. For the unslotter i still need to work in unslotting functions into the API, which i will do pretty soon. So don't worry, they will be coming back!
4) A website based, serverwide market module, 20% complete This is also a bigger project, and one that is still under heavy development. The idea is to create a website based market system that will allow you to either sell things for a fixed price, or auction things comfortably from the website. This will also have character sales and account auctioning included, which will finally be a safe and supported was of trading characters.

I'm just taking a guess, but I think all of these is going to be implemented soon after the 2x event is already over and rebooted back to normal rates *for this server* so Talis can add all these additional content.I never seen them actually add anything new in this 2x event so I'm guessing after the Chrstimas 2x event is over then the additional contents will be in.

There is no such thing as inquisitive feedback :( But yeah, the beta testers have finished testing, a few kinks need to be worked out, and Talis is trying to also implement a way to keep track of wins and losses so that we have a database of which guilds won how many rounds etc.
