Title: Another Dupliquestion!

How does the whole "Grand Cross and Angeling making the dmg miss" work, i have an angeling armor, and when i use grand cross, i keep getting hit /sob.

Ive read 30 pages of the Sader/Pally thread and the search engine.

Wearing Angeling cancels out the holy damage you would normally receive, but you still take the 20% damage kickback from the skill.

So basically, stat less Vit while in a Grandcross build, as the extra HP from it technically isn't needed.
Because the more HP that you have, the more that 20% will annoy you.

you will always get 20% reducted of your current hp


note: its not from the max hp


Read the skill description on Grand Cross


Edit:
dont get max str unless you got a bapho weapon....you do more damage increasing int to 99(your heals are better also), str just a bit to carry GJ and not get 50% overweight, finally get a bazerald

What good would bapho do you in  GC build?

Essentially when Grand Cross hits an enemy, you take a certain amount damage for each hit that connects. The damage is Holy and you can reduce its damage to 0 via Angeling Card. (You technically already take less damage due to the Faith Skill)
In addition Grand Cross also has its own HP cost of 20% per sucessful casting. This cost is instrinsic and you cant negate this damage not matter what.

I was stating that getting 99 str would be a waste unless you wanna be hybrid melee/GC mode and if you wanna be good in melee then get a DDB weapon

But shouldn't you get 99 str and int anyway?

And is a barzelad better than 2x Sam?

If you are fully geared with casting time reduction gears (Berzs, DL/DI, Aegis) + Angeling w/ Deviling then yeah, you can easily stat 99 Str and Int to have max damage with GC, since you dont need other stats anyway.

And I still find double Samurai`s better than a Bazerald, 130 Atk > 10% MAtk unless you have 1300+ Matk which requires 170~175 Int.

But Bazerald is much cheaper compared with Samurai Cards.

or you can get a quad drac with cast reduct gears, if you wanna pay high for leveling /ok
