Title: Transcending
Post by: archfiend38 on November 08, 2008, 09:54:41 pm
Is there any difference between going Novice-Swordsman-Kinght-Novice high-Thief High-SinX compared to Novice-Thief-Assassin-Thief High-SinX?

I know that, but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of choosing a starter class? I Mean, whats the point of LvLing up an Assassin when you could make 7 priest accounts, alternate a IC set, and then simply specify their final transcending class into something other then a Priest High? ??? ???

No difference. You missed the "novice high" on the second one though, lol.

Edit: Well, guess it's up to you if you want to try the class first. This way just opts for more choice. No restriction to what class you can/can't get.

All depends on how desperate you are to just get a trans character. That's why people don't always use a easy leveling class to trans into something else.

The only difference is the experience.  You get some experience with the class if you play it all the way to transcendent.  On the other hand, you'll eventually get that experience with the class later anyways, only better since it has new skills and things.  But it might help with figuring out where/how to level, etc. - except that you can do harder places at lower levels (this out of the experience of my Lord Knight, which does places at level 76 which it could not have done there as a knight).

On the other hand, if you have the right gears, it will be faster (and you can make money, depending on the class) to start all your characters as one class, then transcend to the other.  Of course, depending on the class this might mean you won't have the gears you need for the class it will be, but if you're making money you can buy those later anyways.

pretty much what above said.
u'd still END UP with the same skills(job 50 recommended)
but if u started with novice>thief>sin>rebirth u'd probably memorize your hotkeys and skills...and be more sued to it.

in order to get to your goal of a certain character, it doesnt matter which road you take. go from any non trans class besides SN, SL, SG, and slinger to trans class.

Just remember that in the "Official" RO servers you can only transcend to the class you started out as.

Its here that you can choose what class you want to transcend to.

so yes in a way it defeats the purpose :P
