Title: Question about drops
Post by: Adellie on October 06, 2008, 12:58:47 pm
Hi guys, i was just wondering if monster drops (specifically cards) are affected by anything other than real life chance? I was told no, but i just want to make sure.

Why am i asking?: My priest has been leveling in Pyramids for about over a month and a half. In that time, i have only found 1 card. But today, i took my blacksmith to find a drops cards for my priest. In less than 4 hours, i had picked up 3 drops cards! What's up with that? D:

I read somewhere that the super weak monsters (like porings or drops) give out a greater chance of getting a card than regular monsters. That could be the reason

According to the intertubes NOTHING but the server drop rate affects the card drop rate.

I spent 6 hours card hunting for mandragora card. I went to 90% carry weight, couldn't attack. I was so sad.

Everytime I attacked the monster I pictured myself when I play d&d, rolling the d20 dice hoping for the card. The chances are so low. I wondered if I really wanted a card if I should just spend $10 on it.

I got all the other drops the monster possible offers, but not the card.

If you don't want to card hunt or spend real money then probably posting in the Buying section will work.

When I go card hunting I just don't focus on the card and just focus on killing everything else. I end up with a good bounty of stuff along with 2-3 cards of different monsters.(Its fun exploring XD) but I think when your still low/mid type geared person, you can find stuff more easier when you are not high up on mvp'd gear.

It's a random chance.  Level, gears, and anything else not effecting the drop rates are in no way determining factors in this.  You kill a monster, you get a .03% chance of getting that monster's card.

Like Romiko is saying, sometimes it's just easier to buy the card.  You'd probably save more time earning the zeny and buying it than farming it yourself if you're not well equipped.
