Title: A question about item scam?
Post by: Fear07 on September 27, 2008, 03:11:50 pm
Okay, so...

Let's say you had Niff gears.  Your "friend" asked you if he could borrow your Eddgas for a few minutes, you let him, taking some SS of the trade, but then before he could give them back to you, he logs off without telling.
You don't see him until say about... 2 months later.  You ask him for your Eddgas, but then he starts telling you that his friend "dropped your eddgas lolz".  You're pissed.  You tell him to pay you back as soon as possible, or else you'll report him.
But you just realized that your computer crashed sometime after you lent him your Eddgas, so all your fucking screenshots of the trade are gone.
After a few days, you see him selling +5 Eddga Shoes.  You start getting suspicious, because the Eddgas you lent him were +5 too.
Your "friend" then claims that he's earning money, but then after a few weeks, you realize that he's only making money for himself.
Even more pissed off, you demand the money that he has now or else you'll report him with your nonexistent screenshots.  He gives you 2mil, then suspiciously logs off all of a sudden.

Since the GMs can't do anything for you unless you have proof of the trade, what do you do?

>_>

They can check where items go in trades etc. etc.

So if you traded those eddga's to your friend. The GM's have a log of that somewhere.
But I'm not sure if they will even bother looking in the logs of 5 months back if you didn't make the report then with proper screenshots.

.-.

So the only way I can get reimbursed is by making him pay a certain amount of money? .-.

you would have to pay 10 ads for the recovery in the chance that GMs would recover such an old item...you'd have to wait another 5 moths for the recovery due to the ticket backlog so think if its worth banning your "friend" for 7 ads or less (+5 eddga should be less than 17 ads worth)

but his friend scammed him. So justice should be served!

How can you be sure that he was scammed?
Just because he says so?

No offence Fear07. I'm not saying you're a liar or anything.
It's just very very very easy to make a post like this and not actually have been scammed.
For all we know, you could be the scammer trying to prevent your friend from getting you banned.

It's just that without proof you have little to no chance of justice getting done.

None taken. .-.
I see your point.

Doesn't really sound like it's worth it. .-.
