Title: hi im new here am ermm Having problem choosing class

i'm new to ro

and i cant seem to pick a class
i am intrested in the priest and crusader class

pick one please

Well... I'd pick Swordsman -> Crusader class then. Why? Mmm.. a Priest is able to level fast, too. But: Training with Magnus Exorcismus is kinda harder than using a nice Grand Cross, the other skills from a priest are mostly for support.

But wait: Do you play all alone or together with.. a Mage / Wizard or so?
If yes, you should pick Priest! A Wizard-Priest Combo can train very fast if you use skills like Suffragium and so on. One disadvantage: You (as a Priest) will not be the "damage dealer", you'll only be the buffer and healer.

At least both classes can heal themselves and others :D So: Good choice ;)

If yo are new, I wouldn't recommend priest because you;d need IC or a decent cast time which can get pricey.
But with a sader, you don't really need elite gears.

Well I made a Sader not too long ago, and I'm already lvl 90 or 91. It's really very fast, and I don't have elite gears, believe me, even though I'm already playing for more than a year.

Crusader is fun, and you can pick up much loot while killing ^_^

There's one disadvantage, I forgot to mention: You'll need SP recovery items. Much of them, since Grand Cross and Heal will decrease your SP amount rapidly. Grape Juice will help ;o

You guys suck... Everyone knows hunter is the best!
You can just shoot and click. Besides you level up fast too, keeps the game half interesting for beginners, until you get hooked.
Edit: works with bots too, if ya know what I mean xD

A lot of people choose sin as a first class just because they can kill faster. Maybe give that a try.

xD nah, I'm still sitting in Glast with my friend. I'm bored waiting for a GM, so I'm infesting these topics. What's wrong with hunters anyway?!

picking priest or sader for a beginner isnt smart casue saders nid lots of gj and priests nid lots of Bgs so i suggest knight or assassin or a blacksmith. Starting with sader or priest would be really i mea REALLY tough ...../heh

No way, BS sucks with no gears to level. Maybe sin, flee makes things easy. Then again, without gears, life will suck. I'll stick with hunter.

There used to be a little test thing on the official ragnarok site, where you'd answer some questions and at the end it'd say acolyte/mage/archer etc.
It kept giving me acolyte which I didn't think sounded fun... But now priest is my favourite class... D:

<3 priests. you should be one. They are easy to lvl without ic too. they're more fun than crussaders.

Since you're choosing between priest and crusader... both need a lot of money to level...

My first class was rogue, because they are just the best class ever!! (I think)
I made a bard after and a BS after that... I found leveling my bard and BS hard without gear. My rogue was easier because I could out flee most higher exp giving monsters

I've made every single character possible (on this and other servers)

For a fresh beginner on this server, I'd go with either assassin/rogue/hunter/wizard as a first class.
Why? Because they're the least gear reliant classes out there IMO

Back on-topic:
Both priest and sader are support classes really, but both can be extreme damage dealers

With a priest you'll pretty much be limited to undead/demon monsters
With a sader you can shoose to either hunt demon/undead or you can go with your shield build and hunt other monsters

Saders will have WAAAYY more hp... so you'll be able to take more hits...
It's up to you which class to pick, I'm just providing some of MY thoughts on the classes

This is advice do not ask another person to help choose your class as yoru first starting out class. Why? Because it might ruin your first fun experience in RO. Since this is something new for you yourself should decide what you want to play you know just for the freedom of choice. If you really need help because you just can't decide then allow me to help you:

Priests: Your average RPG buffer and healer class able to mass heal people buff them up to high extremes like making them walk faster increase their hp/sp regeneration speed enchant their weapons, buff up their stats, and all those other holy goodness and even protect them using your spells also be able to mass damage to demon and undead types more often then other classes. However downside you're squishy and when you're starting out with crappy gear you ast slowly for your mosre powerful spells.

Crusader: your typical holy knight in many RPGs able to use holy based attacks and even a AoE one. Being able to heal and being a melee character can really help. Also you are a support type. You can use your skills with your shield in order to protect yourself and also act as a tank wall against targets for your party. Also you have a skill which can make you a scapegoat for the damage being done to other members of your party, best of all your buffs that you made on yourself will be also be effecting your party. Another cool one is that yo u can use many weapons more then the priest and you get to ride a giant sized bird in order to increase walking speed. Best of all your skills have hardly any cast time needed so to use ordinary gear won't be much of a hindrance to you.

there really are many great classes
but i would go with Crusader since you can use NPC gears and actually be good

I might have to agree with the sader suggestion...which is funny since priest in my favorite class.

But, if you choose priest, what I found was the -best- way to level up, is to have a sader buddy. That way they don't waste so much sp on healing, and you can share exp and support each other. It's about the best team effort on ro, I think. But for going alone? Yeah, saders have more chance of survival. =3

You'd mostly be a support priest
Sader doesn;t sound that but - but of course i've never been one so i wouldn't know
Priests Are pretty fun when you have evanglist /rice
