I can play on the test server,unlike my cousin who has an older "version" if you will,cannot,does this mean that my Sakray is up to date?

Sakray needs to be up to date in order to play the test server. Some things will not display without those files.
If you can connect to the test server with no problems, don't worry about it too much. Just patch again once the new episode comes out officially, but you're fine.
