Title: Pet Disappearing?

Ok, well i just bought a peco peco and he was following me around in Payon Dungeon.  I decided to use a butteryfly wing to leave the dungeon and when i appeared at my last save point...my peco peco was gone.  Why did this happen? I looked if he was in his egg in my inventory and storage but he was no where. </3 Can someone tell me if i did something wrong or was it a glitch?  :'(

Did you feed him?  Probably the person that sell the pet left it very hungry and decided to put it back into an egg and sell it.  Probably it run away.

Yeah, he most likely ran away cause he was too hungry. If a pet is hungry, and you change to a different map, then it will run away. It is best to feed them when their hunger is at Neutral





Basics

A cute pet is a monster which will follow you throughout Rune-Midgard to keep you company and empty your wallet. They have no special skills,except when loyal(what they do may vary) or anything special about them except being cute. There are several different types of Cute Pets with varying levels of difficulty to obtain and maintain.

You can only change your pets name ONCE using the 'Pet Status' menu. So, please be careful when deciding your pet's name.

Obtaining A Pet

To get a pet, you will need to have a pet taming item and an Pet Incubator. Incubators can be bought from various pet NPCs in most major towns. Pet taming items must be obtained by monsters drops. Refer to the chart below to see what is needed for each pet.

To use a taming item, simply double click it in your item window. When you see the monster you want to tame on the screen hover the circle over the monster and click. A slot machine will appear and you must click again to get a chance at taming the monster. If you fail you lose the taming item and get no pet. If you succeed you will lose the taming item and receive a pet egg. Depleting the HP of the monster before attempting to catch it does not raise the chance for success. Neither does having high levels of LUK or Blessing oneself. These are all false.

Once you have obtained a pet egg, you need to use a Pet Incubator (sold by pet NPC in any major town) to hatch the pet egg. To hatch the egg, simply click on the Incubator and you will get a small menu like the one you get when you use a magnifier. Simply click on the pet you wish to hatch and it will appear. I suggest that you have food handy when you open the egg for the first time because the pet may be hungry. In some instances the pet is Stuffed.

Raising a Pet

The first thing you should do is feed your pet. If you don't feed it quickly enough it will likely run away. It is also likely to run away if you feed it too much. When feeding your pet first you should open the status window for the pet. Right click on the pet and click on the option for status. A window will pop up where you will see the name of the pet, what level the pet is, if it is wearing any accessories, and whether or not it is hungry. To feed your pet simply right-click on it and choose "Feed Pet". Your pet will then make an emote, letting you know it has eaten. It is possible to overfeed your pet. Only feed it once at a time and it's intimacy will slowly rise. It should give you the Ok! emote. If you continue to feed it it will give the Hmmm or Pif emote. Feed it again and it will use the OMG! emote and die. You must control how much your pet eats.

Another note about feeding your pet: Monster's Feed is not the same as Pet Food despite having identical icons. Your pet will only eat Pet Food if it's designed to NOT monster feed. Monster's Feed is only good for recovering your own HP.

When you are tired of your pet or have run out of money to keep it out, you can return it to egg status. Simply right click on the pet and choose the selection. You will need an incubator to hatch the pet again. You do not need to take accessories off the pet when you put it into its egg.

Mechanics

There are basically 5 different status to your pet's Hunger levels and Intimacy Levels. There is actually one more level for hunger, but I didn't have the heart to starve a poring for accurate data.
Intimacy level Hunger Level Point System Characteristics

    * Very Shy Very Hungry Less than 100 Ready to run far far away from a bad master
    * Shy Hungry 100-250 Uses moody emotes such as /pif and /wah
    * Neutral Neutral 250-599 Uses normal emotes such as /no1 and /ok
    * Cordial Satisfied 600-899 Uses affectionate emotes such as and /kis and talks when fed.
    * Loyal Stuffed 900-1000 Talks often and uses affectionate emotes



Each pet starts at different intimacy level ranging from 250-399. The higher level the monster the lower the beginning intimacy level.
Each feeding will also give different incremental points depending on the pet

    All pets below Level 33 will have 10-15 points increase per feeding
    All pets above Level 33 will have 5 points per feeding

Pet intimacy level goes down by 15 points each time you die.
Pet intimacy level goes down by 5 points when you put it into its egg.

my pet also disappeared...when I logged off it was still alive and neutral for both hunger and intimacy
when I just logged back on, the pet disappeared, what happened??
oh, also I checked my inventory and it's not there either >.<

P.S. I miss my Poporing (TT~TT)

This is perhaps the number one reason why pets run away or why their intimacy never gets higher.

my poporing went missing too!!! it's been with me for the longest time, and it's mega loyal. it wasn't hungry either...i just warped and then he was gone. :(

lol happen to me b4, now i got new problem my pet is immortal it wont run away even u starve it or put it back to egg. -.-; cant cloak

do any pets actually have any special ability when at loyal? i spent ages getting mine to loyal to find out it didnt do anything.

lol hadnt been fixed yet o.o i got the same bug on my hylo but i wont let it starve just in case it wanna run again =.=
