i heard that u can make one through a quest. anyone care to explain how?

You can buy from item shop one contact lens[1] for 15$.

If it's one of those newer mid head gears there aren't quests for those yet, only available via other players and the item shop. If it isn't one of those newer slotted mid head gears you can RMS it.
IIRC it's the first part.

Contact lense is not one of the newer mid head gears. However, I've never heard of a quest to make them, so I can't help you with that :(.
