Sorry, but I just started here a few days ago, and just managed to register for the forums.

I've been looking around at the guides, and I noticed there's a lot of abbreviations used in the description and explanations. I don't really get what those mean X_X

So if someone would be so kind as to explain some of the more commonly used abbreviations, or perhaps point me to a thread that can, that'd be much appreciated.

Oh and..if there's any tips a newbie could find helpful, please do say so =]

Train at Payon Dungeon, not out in the woods. Its an advice I've found very handy when I was a beginner myself. And buy lots of meat. They are cheap (costs around 42-45 zeny) but heals you pretty well.

Use F12 to bring out a new window, keep the things or spells you frequently use there, by dragging the items or spells from the menu and placing them on the boxes. It can be extremely useful. Use F1, F2, F3 etc. to use those items/spells immediately.

Buy Butterfly wings. They are very important especially for beginners and travellers. If you get lost, you can use Butterfly wings to immediately teleport to where you last saved the game.

Avoid buying weapons/cards/accessories from merchants at the beginning. They are sometimes obscenely expensive. Instead you can go to the item shop at anthemro website and search for in-game sellers who will always charge the same price.

That's about it. You'll learn more tips and strategies as you play the game.

this is really good advice *appluads* i second it

usually the order of leveling i go in is from Payon to Orc Dungeon to Prison to Niff.... never got strong enough to survive in LH3 alone
as for abbreviations... the link that ShadowAngel713 posted was extremely helpful to me as well
