Title: Is anyone else having difficulty running RO on Ubuntu?
Post by: Mal on June 05, 2008, 12:45:57 pm
Up until yesterday Anthem worked fine, but since the server was reset, every time I log in I get a messaged telling me I had been DCd.
I did run the patch that was just put up, but I still can't get in.
I tried it on a computer that ran Windows, and that worked just fine, so it's something to do with either Ubuntu or Wine.
Does anyone have any idea what my problem is?

I'm getting the same thing, but on Dyefire. =/ I know what you mean. And it says the servers are up and fine. Wonder what's going on...

After much thought, I figure Linux must be the source of your problems.
A simple switch to Window$ should fix everything. :D

Also, don't use dyefire/dyeadvace.

Why not? I never had any problems with it before.

Vampire kit, it let me in, see if it will let you in. If it doesn't don't run dyefire and see if that works
Dew, I haven't been running Dyefire at all
Also, by "A simple switch to Window$ should fix everything" I'm confused.  See,I don't know linux much at all, the only reason I'm running it is because I was unwilling to pay windows to reset my harddrive and my brother programs so he set Ubuntu up for me. Do you mean I need to run a program or are you saying to switch my OS?

From my experience, running alot of things with Linux requires alot of necessary effort.
Sure you can get things to work by going through a bunch on random steps... but wouldn't you rather everything just works? .-.

I'm saying switch to Windows, and everything will work fine. *Anything but Vista*

Are you using an OEM verison of windows? If they're not letting you use the key from an OEM version, all you have to do is call them to get it to work.
Stealing a copy also works nicely.
