Title: Keep getting disconnected. Help.

Hiyo all. I recently downloaded AnthemRO to my new computer and I keep getting annoyingly disconnected.

Any help with this would be lovely. Here's a screenshot of it.

Does this happen when you just have your aRO open (so don't have other programs open) or in any particular circumstance in-game or is this a happens every 5 minutes thing?

It happens about every five to ten minutes I'd say.

I've tried playing RO with no other programs in use and I still get constantly disconnected.

Did a quick search and didn't find good news

The best we can do is hope that Talis somehow discovers a magical line of code that would let us play lag-free.

Donations won't exactly help, since we're already running on the best server money can buy, practically.

Better wait to see what a GM or someone else thinks.

it's still happening with her >=  We tried downloading Dyefire and Lora's still having issues with it D/cing her every 5 minutes for server gap.

Her sakray and patcher are fully updated too..

How about firewalls? Or maybe running it as administrator? The disconnect message sounds familiar.. -___-

I have the same problem and a guildie as well.
Yesterday I got D/C'd 3 times in a row...
I was triple clienting so that could be a reason.
But when I just opened a single client, I still got time gapped 10 minutes later...
It just gets really annoying. Especially if you're in kiels dungeon and you die because of the time gap and you get disconnected.
That's happened twice to me so far... /swt

It's the lag at the moment.

Hopefully it will be sorted when the server comes back online.

Her problem happened before though but with the server back it should help.

no she's still getting disconnected every 10 minutes.  it's really getting bothersome x.x; and she's checked her internet and it's fine, and her computer is perfectly capable of playing RO

What country does she live in? Unfortunately, what AceJay says doesn't exactly hold true or else the whole server would be coming down a lot more often than once in a while. Everyone would be experiencing that problem if it was a software or ISP problem on our end.

sorry i'm responding for her XD

she just usually doesn't come onto the forums, so I'm relaying her information

She's played on RO before and never had such an issue and even called her internet provider and reset her connection to be sure it wasn't that.

I made sure her sakray and anthem patcher is up to date and she's not using the new client ( as far as I know )

I live in Kentucky, USA and I get Disconnected QUITE OFTEN every day... especially when vending ><

it's so annoying...

well quite often doesn't really fit the bill.. she like gets disconnected every 10-15 minutes constantly over and over again.  sometimes every 5 minutes.

it can get a bit ridiculous at times ._.;

Are the forums laggy for her? Have her try pinging www.anthemro.com and see how that goes? Perhaps her connection to our ISP's is just bad. The hops will show though to see how the connection is.

mine was doing this as well. but it was because i installed RO on 2 comps and i guess my internect conection couldn handle it. so it kept dc-ing one user constantly.

Honestly, I'm getting the same thing.  I'm just waiting around until something happens.

If you're starting with Dyefire you need to use just the patcher for now

I took that from the other thread, so you probably didn't do everything it said.  Move the data folder out of your RO folder and watch it work, I had the same problem until I did.

No. I went to the forum and followed everything. Then I tried just using the anthem start up and got some weird .kr set up. So I went to the AnthemPatcher, and followed everything that said, and I still can't get logged in. Only this time it wasn't a time gap, it just said I couldn't connect to the server. =/

You said you're using dyefire.  If you didn't move the data folder, it will keep booting Dyefire EVEN if you are starting with the patcher.

QuickPatch 2008-06-05 (Right click/Save As) (http://anthemro.com/users/denia/patches/AnthemRO%20QuickPatch%202008-06-05.rar)

If you do not have winrar:

QuickPatch 2008-06-04 (http://anthemro.com/users/denia/patches/AnthemRO%20QuickPatch%202008-06-04.exe)

Install directly to your RO folder. It should overwrite your old files and you should be up and running soon after. If that doesn't work:
Instead of installing it directly to your RO folder, install it to your desktop. Then take the file (adata.grf) and put it in your RO folder and overwrite your old adata once it asks.

Alright, well I removed the dyefire and the dyefire text, ect. What else do I have to remove? It's still not connecting me.

@Gm Denia - Sadly. =( And I removed all of my dyefire stuff just now.

Make sure you removed all of Dyefire for now. The following files are Dyefire files:

anthemRO.dfp

Do I have to remove the anthemRO-beta.dfp, anthemRO-new.dfp, and anthemRO-newbeta.dfp as well? I didn't yet, and before I did, I thought I would ask.

Edit: I'm assuming that .dfp is dye fire program? Well, I removed those too, and I still can't connect to the server.

Did you at any point in time install dye advance? Make sure you do not have this file in your RO folder: ws2_32.dll

Also if you still have your data directory, go into that and delete sclientinfo file.

Nope. Don't have that file any where. So I'm just reinstalling the whole Anthem file again. :/

though pushing up cuz Lora is still getting d/ced every 10 minutes or so.. even after the crash.

I just hope that this has any suggestions so that it can be fixed because it's quite annoying ._.

I'm still getting  disconnected every ten minutes or so. I removed Dyefire, unistalled both Dyfire and AnthemRO, redownloaded AnthemRO, re-installed it, and I STILL get dc/ed. This is so very frustrating. :-[
