Title: Hello, Hi, Yo, Ni Hao, or whatever "Hello" is in other languages... ^^
Post by: pchs2c on April 19, 2008, 03:42:21 am
Uh... I know this is so sissy and awkward... but... shame is nothing compared to the help I need  ;D

I'm new to this server, and I currently have a priest, which, through my friend's help, I have known how to control and use effectively... And, I have done some research on how to ...you know... support someone effectively  ;D

Enough with the awkward introductions, I'll just go straight...

Is there anyway a priest can earn lots of money except for picking up loots in GH and selling Eluniums to people?

I really need help since I'm ashamed that up to now my priest's only gear(s) is a Mace [3] given by the Job Change NPC  :P

I'd be glad if the answers wouldn't include words such as Ad and Donation
:D I don't have much allowance and I live in the Philippines and I never played the official server here... So this is the first time I played a MMORPG in my whole life...  :P

Feel free to PM me (As if you really would  ;D) My IGN is *Messiah* .

 ;D ;D

Sorry for the DOUBLE POST...
I was about to say I was dumbfound when I realized there was the General Discussion on the other part of this forum..  ;D Sorry if this would count as off-topic

Edited by Astatine: Merged double post.

What level is your priest and save zeny for dex gears.

Well, picking up loots in GH is deffinately a start. When you first start out, this can be one of the best things you can do
to make zeny. Stick with it for a bit. I know that when I started, I used to make about 500K a day in GH. (as an Aco)
If you save up for a few days, you should eventually be able to buy yourself a Quad Dex rod (4 drops cards, in a rod)
Or you could just hunt the monster 'drops' for its cards of course. However that could be quite time consuming.

A Quad Dex rod is around 1mill. So thats about one-three days if you stick with it, and save up. As a Priest, you'll want high DEX and INT,
So prioritize getting all the DEX+ cards that you can. The other ones are quite a bit more expensive though. So it may take you more time to save up for them.
However while you get your loots, you'll also be leveling - so you should be doing quite well. (Selling Elu like you mentioned, is quite a good way of earning 10K+)

If the prisons' has you down, try leveling in the Churchyard. Just warp to Glasthelm, and take a left into the closest portal. Once through there, go straight into the building.
Inside that building, head for the right-most warp, and you'll be there. The monsters are similar to that of the prisons; however one big difference is that it is not a
KS zone. Which means you'll have to deal with your own monsters. (There aren't any pesky injustices there, however there are Wraiths)
The loots are basically the same as well; so its not a bad place.

Once you level up more, and get the skill ME (Magnus Exorcismus ) You can attempt to Mob monsters together.
Usually, when you get a good cast time (This is why you need those DEX gears) you'll probably head to Skellington. (warp to Nifl city, and head left through two maps to get there)
Thats generally the "best" place to make zeny, and to level for a priest. You can ask another priest for a "nif warp please" and they should warp you to the YGG tree (one map from nif)

---------------------------------------

Alternatively; you can decide to make a Rogue as well as your priest. Rogue's are usually the best "Farmers" Since with a Dagger, they have the autosteal skill.
If you don't feel like working on your priest, you might want to give one of these a shot. They can make quite a bit of zeny from both Toyfactory (Stealing cake)
And from Amatsu dungeon, (Stealing startcrumbs, and almost everything else)

I highly recomend you make a merchant as well; inorder to use the skill "Overcharge" to gain more zeny from when you sell things.

At last, a reply.... hehe... my priest is 6*/2*/50 .... hehe, I asked for free tanks in GH in exchange for heals when they are hit  ;D Pretty much I buy 200s of those violet thingys... (forgot what they are called) that restore SP when they agree to let me ks  ;D

I did some research just a while ago and I was like OMG :o Dex gears are so.... expensive... It would take eternity for me to earn that much money ^^

I was also planning to make this a support build... I found out a while ago that Support Priests cost less than Dex Priests... I wouldn't thrive in Churchyard anyway... The screenies I saw in this forum imply that Churchyard is so mobby .... I don't want ugly rotten undeads scrambling on my body... I'm a virgin, and my body is sensitive...  ;D   *It means that I do not have that much VIT yet, but I already maxed INT, as told by my friend...

And the loots?
... I already picked up 1000+ Prisoner's Uniforms and Rotten Bandages, problem is... I don't have a Merchant to Overcharge them, and making one would distract me from leveling my priest further since I would be busy trying to level my Merchant...  ;D ;D

Currently, I'm trying to find Spore Cards, I can afford buying Clip [1](s) since they cost less than 50k ^^ Don't try PMing my Priest right now, I'm busy doing nothing here at our store, good thing the internet connection here is 1Gbps /heh

Well for the merchant its actually pretty easy.

Just level in payon dungeon for a few levels and once you get "push cart" or something along those lines and go to the special skills NPC and he will give you "Cart Revolution" (Oh yeah don't forget to get a cart from the Rentals guy inside the job changing building). From there level in Geffen Dungeon killing Poison Spores untill you have "Over Charge". ^^

Forgot to mention. To get to Geffen dungeon, just warp to Geffen City. Go north untill you see a portal. Walk into it and from there just keep going straight through the portals /ok

Wow, thanks for the leveling guide!  ;D I appreciate it, but, the same as what I've said.,
making one would distract me from leveling my priest further since I would be busy trying to level my Merchant...  ;D ;D

I really wanna focus on just one character until it reaches 99  ;D

I've really thought hard on what character to use as a main, and the following will be what I have pondered...

Knight:
Agi type: Will be hard w/o enough flee...
Vit tyep:  OMG for super slow ASPD

Assassin:
Katar type: That would be so shitty... I'm not so used to meelee...
DD type: I'll make one when I get my filthy hands on a DDPT Main Gauche... they make me drool :P

Blacksmith and Alchemist:
     - IT WOULD TAKE ME DAYS TO LEVEL THESE GUYS W/O PROPER GEARS!!!

Wizard:
     - Cast Time much? Soul Strike is so... shitty. Besides, I don't feel like being bad to monsters ;D
*Imagines hitting a Poring with a Lord of Vermillion* /OTL

Sage:
     - Same as above...

Hunter and Bard:
      - They say it is a bad idea to make this your main character w/o funds... Arrows cost much... I would be bankrupt before I
        even job change...

Crusader:
      - I don't like the idea of being crowded by rotten undeads... /omg

Rogue:
      - Great! I'll need to take a thief to job 40 using a stiletto!

Monk:
       - Yay! A monk using a Mace [3] ^^  Pretty much you know what I mean...

Ninja:
       - "Now I'll cast Freezing Spear of Ice! Yay! Let's wait for 7 seconds!" ... LOL I'll be dead by the time I finish casting ;D

Gunslinger:
      - Same as "Hunter and Bard"

Super Novice:
      - What??!! I'll have to make a level 45 Novice???

TK, TKM, and Soul Linker:
       - aww... and I wanted a "trans"-able character...

That leaves me to the Priest class ^^

but just the idea of getting surrounded by Zombie Prisoners makes me puke...

No offense. Peace.

I suggest that you do invest the time into making your merchant.
Over a long period of time, I've probably earned countless millions more, just because of that overcharge skill.

If you insist, then a merchant I shall make... Problem is... I do not have good equips or a nice weapon to start with... and I only play for like 2 hours a day...  ;D So, I'm afraid my hardwork will all go to waste... /heh

I'll make one, if I have enough money to buy a decent weapon... Finding a friend to help me level will be piece of cake!  ;D I majored in CyberSocializing  ;D

You only need to get about 15-18 Job levels, inorder to get Overcharge.
And thats all you need.

I did the same thing, and it worked for me. A good thing for priests to do is to use sanct in GH churchyard. There are tons of undead which drops prisoner clothes which sells for a fair price.

I don't really know if theres an Aco's guide though. But goodluck if you find it.

Hehe, sorry, but I sold my 1000+ ea. of Prisoner's Uniform and Rotten Bandages, together with a few Brigans and Cyfars with my merchant that I made a while ago, of course with level 10 Overcharge and it didn't get past 1m... I play a minimum of 30 mins per day, because I have work...  ;D(Lol, I'm 13 and I already need to go to work? ;D)

So, if anyone can pick up more than 1000 in one day... I say, why not?

Alternatively, crusaders make quite good money without gears by using GC and heal :).

*looks at your siggy* I would suggest that you don't ask for money in-game because most people will usually respond to you the 'hard way' if you know what I mean. =/

Er...

I don't know if you really read it or not, but...

It's called "unwanted" because it targets people who are bored and are quitting aRO, that way, we (really, I) can recycle and re-use it and it won't go to waste...  ;D

And, thanks for warning me though... I already know that, I did some research a while ago  ;D

I'm in the Philippines... I want to have those filthy yet shiny Kahos... Voting takes a long way, and I have calculated that with the current rates, it would take me a year or two to have 100 ADs... And, I play a minimum of 30 mins per day, because I have work... so I won't be online long enough for me to hunt for rares or whatever you call them...

Lets see... Aco and Priest leveling is highly dependant on your gears, and cast time.

But I'll do the best I can;

Level 30~whenever your gears allow you to stop:
Prisons, Churchyard, Amatsu dungeon (Healing Firelocks) & other places with large populations of undead monsters.

Possibly level 60 or 70+ :
Ancient mummies (Morroc Pyramids) It again, depends on how well you can survive. If you need help - try to find a Crusader, knight, or Steelbody Monk around
your level to party with. They're usually the best tanks, and it would allow you both to level fairly quickly.

And then depending on your gearset, you should be alright to attempt Nifl.
At first stay behind tree's, or small spaces, out of the way from other people. Less monsters will mob you, and you should be able
to proiritize surviving - over picking up your loots, before a Blacksmith greeds you.

Just a rough guide, but it has some leveling tips I guess. I never was really good with the priest class.
I suggest you post in the Priest/Highpriest topic if you want a more indepth guide type thing.

To make money when you first start off; just character spam.

Make a merchant, get overcharge, then make a theif. You get the initial 10K from the job change, and then you also get extra
zeny from selling the dagger you get. Just make sure to keep deleting the characters you make afterwards.

Priests are the easiest to start of with leveling, but don't make much money because if they are based on NPC gears they can be hard to play at times, and with the cost of BGs or Missy, it certainly does hinder the fiscal aspect.

Overcome your fear of the undead and use a crusader.

We priests pride ourselves in cleansing the evil out of the undead, that is our role and we should do our best in playing our part.

LMAO back to the topic

Anyway, turn undead is the best build for non-IC priest, party with a monk, steel body and even share and hit off to ancient mummies.

Warp to pyramids dungeon, enter, go to the portal in the centre, head off south all the way, go into the portal and you will arrive at minorous map. Teleport till you reach the south east corner of the map and enter the portal, and you will be at ancient mummies.
Holy light mimics and arclouses that get in the way, while the monk helps.

TU build consists of int,vit and luk mostly. Int is still the most important though.

Max TU, get gloria and kyrie eleison and magnificat, and the rest you can spill into other fun skills. Divine protection may be slightly useful, depends on how much vit you got. Angelus too, and do max res for the IC. Avoid Amon Ra.

Thanks for reading.
